I had a similar thing happen to me. Home alone with kids during the day when someone knocked on the door. I never open the door, I always open the window. He was selling cleaning supplies and wanted to come in and demonstrate. I said no but he was so insistent on coming inside, eventually I just shut the window and walked away. I set my house alarm and called DH. We were able to find a phone number for the company but it just rang and rang. No website. I think it was in the Bohemia area, but the name of the company you said doesn't sound the same.

I usually don't answer and if I do, I usually lead the way with my Rottweiler. Never opening my storm door. Just talking through it.

I keep my glass storm door locked. If someone knocks or rings the bell I'll answer our door but I never unlock the storm door. I bring the phone with me too.
I am paranoid but I really don't want them to break in thinking we are not home.

kirby is a vacuum and carpet cleaner. I remember when they did the demonstration at my house when I was in jr high. my mom bought the thing, cost her $1500.

Holy crap!! The same thing happened to me a few weeks ago and I'm in Plainview!!! He insisted on leaving a free sample and I kinda closed the door while he was still talking to me! I was a little scared.
