Well huh...
The parent who has been verbally attacking me all year just sent an e-mail to me and her son's sped teacher thanking him for everything that we've done for him this year. As well as the principal and the counselor for the work they put in place in regards to this boy and another child who have had difficulty since kindergarten.
While I'm so relieved, I'm just in utter shock. I may frame this e-mail.

Re: Well huh...
isnt it a great feeling.. I hope she feels like an @ss for torturing you all year yet you did so well with her son.
I have a parent who wrote my coteacher and I a nasty letter saying we are bad teachers, yet she is the one who abuses her child and dressed her like a a boy - but we are the bad ones.. somehow I dont think I will be getting such a nice letter from her as you did from your student's parent

At the end of the day that's what it's all about, doing your best to help the kids.

Re: Well huh...
that is nice to hear. I agree with Rick Lavoie ("Fat City") who says that these attacks are often not to be taken personally as this is another indication of a family in crisis, particularly when it is a family with a special needs child.
