Went car seat shopping this weekend and have to say dissappointed in the Britax ......
i went in wanting the Britax Boulavard and was not going to be swayed otherwise until i was told that it dosent recline in the foward facing none of the Britax modles do position
so his head would fall foward especially if he sleeps in the seat . and what kid dosent
does anyone else have this problem with theirs. when we put him in it it was very upright so i could see this happening. we really need to get a seat so any feedback would be appreciated

I'm not sure if any recline in the forward facing position. In order for them to be installed correctly, they need to be upright.

thats what i thought but there were so many that did. the sales man reccomended the Evenflo one it had the same 5 star reveiws as the Britax did but it reclined and i have to say it looked way more comfortable.

What do you mean by recline? Do you mean that the back just seems to sit back more rather than upright? If that's what you mean, we have the Evenflo Triumph and it seems to be back a little.

no there is actually a lever that you pull to recline the seat to 2 different settings

I Have to say i have 2 marathons and neither of my girls heads fall forward. one dd is forward facing now, the other rear facing. Both girls are super comfy and fall asleep in their seats in the car all the time.

yeah it is pretty cool and when we put our son in a bunch of different seats some with the recline feature and some without there was no question that the recline option won us over he looked so cozy in there and definatly able to sleep more comfortably

My dd has no issues falling asleep in the britax- her head doesn't flop forward. my mom has the evenflo in her car- and yes, it has good ratings, but i find the strap system in that seat to be way more annoying and need more adjusting than the britax does.

I have the marathon and evenflo. The even flo is terrible in comfort comparisons. My DD head falls all the way to the side since there is no side wings for her head to rest on. She looks SO much more comfy in the marathon.
the evenflo is difficult to use rear facing and not easy forward facing either

I hate the Evenflo. We bought it for DH's car because of the high safety ratings but the straps are terrible to adjust every time we take DD in and out.
DH just told me the other day that he wishes we spent the extra money to get a second Britax for his car. We love the Marathon. No problem with her head falling forward at all.

Re: Went car seat shopping this weekend and have to say dissappointed in the Britax ......
I have the Britax and the Evenflo. I like the Britax SO much better. I agree about the straps on the Evenflo they are such a pain in the you know what.. The Evenflo does recline however if you have it in the forward facing position, it cant recline or it doesn;t sit in the car properly. In the Britax her head never falls forward. In the Evenflo it always does. If we are taking a long trip that I know she will sleep in the car for a long period we always take the Britax. HTH

I have the Marathon and it's in the forward facing position. DD's head falling forward has never happened and she has never looked uncomfortable in the seat.

We have the Marathon - and Jack falls asleep in the car almost every time - and his head never flops forward (and I had him in it as early as two months)

In my car the seat that we have (Eddie Bauer) is upright and in Dh's car he is more reclined in the same seat. I think it's the way that the seats sit in the different cars. I do have to say that once DS was big enough to be in the forward facing position he would fall asleep and move his own head to the side.

Well, I'm an Evenflo mommy, here. I love ours and so does Ava. I don't find the straps difficult at all, infact, they're super easy. I do love that it reclines in the forward facing position.

Re: Went car seat shopping this weekend and have to say dissappointed in the Britax ......
I have Marathons and they both have a lever for a recline. It's only a slight recline but there is one. It can be used up to 33 lbs according to the Britax website after that it's upright only. My youngest is 19 months and we stopped using the recline a few months ago. The tether strap pulls it back slightly too. I've never had a flopping forward issue with any of my kids in the Marathons. If anything, they've put their head to the side and looked super comfy, which I can't say is the case with our extra seats (Evenflo) - in those they look so umcomfortable when they sleep.

Re: Went car seat shopping this weekend and have to say dissappointed in the Britax ......
According to the Britax website and manuals (and the Boulevard that I have installed), it DOES recline. The handle is on the very bottom, on the base.
ETA: From the manual:
Recline Adjustment Pull recline handle (fig. F) then slide restraint shell into desired position. Release recline handle, then verify the child restraint has locked into position. IMPORTANT: Restraint must be in the full upright position when installed in forward-facing mode with children over 33 pounds (15 kg.).
DS is over 33 pounds, so his his upright. DD's is upright, but we could recline hers if we wanted to.
