We have a 2003 Jeep Liberty.
I've heard they can be a little cramped with everything, but we love our car.

Re: wgat's a good family car??
We are going to be shopping for a mini van any day now. We were going to be looking at the smaller SUVs, but after seeing friends who have some of the smaller makes, and how much space baby things take up in it, we're most likely going to do a mini van. It was actually DH's idea--I never thought he'd drive a mini van, but it really does make much more sense, at least for us.

Re: wgat's a good family car??
we just got a 2007 camry and I drive a 2000 corolla. The corolla is fine, but it's not very big and doesnt have the safety features that the new camry has.

Re: wgat's a good family car??
We started looking at mid-size SUV.
I have a Dodge Intrepid and it's a very nice size but I don't like the setup of a sedan for the stroller, car seat. I like convenience. I just don't like putting the stroller into a regular trunk.
We are probably going to lease it for 3 years. We always purchased our cars but we want to see how it works for us first. Then decide.

Re: wgat's a good family car??
We have a 2 door right now that we are going to trade-in in about 6 months. We are not big fans of SUVs, so we'll probably wind up with an Altima or Camry - something like that.

Re: wgat's a good family car??
We just got a 2007 Saturn Vue. We both have 2 seater pickup trucks, so we HAD to get a new vehicle. DH wanted me to have a "truck". For safety and space.

Re: wgat's a good family car??
We got a 07 Hyundai Sonata. We were looking for something reasonably priced, safe and fuel efficient. The Sonata fit the bill.
It ranked highest above other cars in its class in crash test ratings. And the trunk is huge!!
We also have a VW Touareg...it's nice and I love the amenities but it's a gas hog, trunk doesn't have enough surface area and it's almost too high to lift the car seat in.

Re: wgat's a good family car??
We have a Nissan xterra right now and are looking for something else since the xterra is a high turnover vehicle. We've been looking here and there for the past few weeks and while I'm not sure what we'll go for, we both seem to be leaning towards a minivan

Re: wgat's a good family car??
Up until wednesday, I had a mustang. I got rid of it and got the Altima. The car was a good deal and the trunk is BIG! I wanted and SUV too but we will eventually get rid of our other car and get a small SUV. The altima has been awesome so far, but I havent even had it a week yet!

Re: wgat's a good family car??
When we went to the car seat safety class they said one of the best cars for a baby is the VW Passat - and that's what we have.
Whatever you get, make sure the back seats are wide enough and flat for the baby seat. Very important....more so than having the LATCH system.

Re: wgat's a good family car??
Explorer. It's a little older so next winter we are upgrading to a newer one...for the 3rd row. It's large enough for me yet not gigantic like my MIL's suburban. I tend to keep large items in the cargo/trunk area a lot so I'm certain a stroller can be there most of the time and still have enough room for what I need.
