my DD sleeps in our room, not because i want her there, but because we have a 1bdrm apt. we are moving next month and i am excited for her to have her own room!
she has been in her own crib since she was 4wks, and that was only because i had a csection and couldn't get in and out of my own bed!

i put her in her crib at 4 months...and then i slept in her room for a month

DS was a very noisy sleeper when he was first born. When he was in our room inteh bassinet, HE slept, but we did not at all. SO, even though I was not thrilled, I agreed to TRY letting him sleep inhis own room (which was right next to ours, and we had the video monitor). It took me a few nights, but yep I did sleep. We ALL slept much better this way. I would not have been able to do it without the video monitor - i love that thing! I could see his little tummy going up and down so I knew he was breathing, etc.

But then I realized how much easier it is to do night feedings when she is right next to me.
If I had to get up and out of bed everytime she fussed, cranked or needed a feeding I'd never get any sleep at all!
Sometimes she fusses and just needs to be turned over from one side to the other and BAM! she is out cold again.
So I feel like I NEVER want to put her in her crib...just out of convenience for me.
Maybe once she is TRULY sleeping through the night I'll consider it.
But for now, it's just easier with the night feedings
me too w/my ds 
When he sleeps through the night, then I am gonna move him.

11 weeks. he outgrew the bassinet and he was cooing and ahhing  and I'd end up just staring at him not getting any sleep i would have kept him in our room longer if he wasn't knocking into the sides.

we said when DS sleeps STTN we will move him. He hit one year and was not STTN. we tried to move him into his own room but he was a mess . he is still in his crib in our room at 2 years old now we have a 3 month old and he is in his own room 
we are moving very soon and both kids will be in their own rooms.

My son slept in his crib right from the beginning. His room is literally right across the hall from ours though, about 5 feet away, so it was no big deal to go into him for feedings.

4 months. It took about a week for me to be comfortable with it.
