What are you doing to prepare for the storm?
We haven't had significant snowfall in a long time. We had roughly 9" for all of last winter. 15" for all of the winter before that.
What are you doing to prepare for tonight's snow?
I plugged in my heated walkway and steps, have the plow mounted on my truck, and the truck pointed downhill with the defroster on high so when I remote start it, it will warm it up. Shovels are in the house, and so is the icemelt.

Re: What are you doing to prepare for the storm?
I'm think I'm in an 18-24" range. My plow guy came yesterday to put markers at the top of my driveway where the brickwork starts. I trickled on some heat in the bedrooms since previously I only had it on in the rest of the house at 59. Obviously I hate heat. Have bags of salt in the garage as well as the snowblower as a back up.

Um nothing? Actually this is first snowstorm in our house so we hired someone to clean our driveway/walkway. Not really sure how much we are expecting where we are.

Hubby took out the snow blower and finally put away our backyard stuff. I’m running in a few minutes to Target to pick up snow boots and a snowsuit for ds1. We got a new snow sled that we’re excited to try! And hopefully I’ll start my Christmas baking tonight!

Took out the snowblower/shovels. Not much to prepare.
We aren't going to be stranded for weeks or even days. No need to rush to the store for bread and milk. I never understand that.

I never understood that either. Same with the toilet paper during covid.

We made sure the snowblower was ready to go and took out the shovels. I also brought in our Christmas inflatables as I didn't want them to get buried.
I made sure to go food shopping early in the week to get what we need to not deal with the french toast emergency (but it wasn't bad as I think people are stocking up more with covid - but the bread supply did look low).
My kids who are full remote (the whole district is) are having a snow day tomorrow. Hoping my company follows suit.

Exactly. It's funny to witness actually Luckily we don't' eat bread or drink milk, so I guess we'll survive.

I usually grocery shop on Thursday so I went yesterday instead. I'm sure plenty of people that would otherwise go Thursday or Friday are going earlier in the week instead. Other than that I pulled out the kids snow gear and dh pulled out the shovels and whatever supplies he needs.

Put one car in garage so 1 less to clean. Took out shovel and Snow Joe to clean other cars. Just did my weekly shopping so ok with food. Have work tomorrow and since I work from home I can’t just sit around and drink all night like I would have liked to lol.

So my Dh is dying to get the heated driveway. Do you have the heat on your driveway too?

No, not the driveway, just the sidewalk. DS and I did that ourselves. I gave him $1, so he's technically a Professional Mason.... The steps are wood, so I have heated mats that I put out every winter.
I'd like to get a heated driveway, but that involves digging up the driveway that is in good shape. I have a circular driveway, so I just play in the snow in my truck for a while, pushing the snow around with the plow.

Yes he said when the time comes that we need a new driveway, he wants to look into it. He's been talking about this for years- it's like his dream in life!

i'm on the other side of the country and we're preparing for the storm... at work.
we're dealing with all the contingency plans for the delay the snow will create. in other words, i'll be working a lot of OT until we catch up with all the holiday packages.

LOL. For years I never had and ice scrapper or a snow brush. But I still had my beach chairs and towels in my trunk. As you can tell ,I'm not a winter person. One time I was wiping the snow off my car off after work with a beach towel

I was in rite aid yesterday & today & both times saw someone buying eggs & soda. That's a tasty breakfast!
We usually get take out on Wednesdays & probably still will, as long as places are open, but we have food.
When we used to grocery shop during the week, I fee like snowstorms always came right as we were were running out of food. ( we don't have room to stockpile.) Now, we go on Saturday, so a Wednesday storm is perfect. We have already cooked a few things that provided leftovers, and we have a few more meals worth of ingredients left.
I prepared by doing laundry. I live in a co-op & have to go outside to get to the laundry room, so I made sure to do that before lunch.
And I took my outdoor lantern in.
Today's egg buyer was also going to buy a Christmas tree before the snow got too heavy.
