what color carpet?
We painted the nursery pale pink and our furniture is dark brown, espresso. I didn't want to go too light with the carpet because i figure it will get dirty quickly. what color would you do? I was thinking of a beige/neutral color. Would that look weird? the trim in the room is white too.

I think a nice beige would look nice so you can keep it neutral in case you have anymore and its a boy you just have to change the furniture

I agree the beige will look great with both the dark furniture and the soft wall color.

I would go with beige also. I think neutral is always good so if you change the color scheme down the line you won't have to worry about the carpet.
