what color door and shutters?
We have a raised ranch house and we presently have brown flashing, gutters and window trim as well as a brown/reddish roof. We just repainted the house a silver gray color (I personally wanted a light army green, but DH won the battle.) We want to repaint the front door, which is presently brown, and add shutters to the house. We have discussed navy and dark red, but now DH is shying away from color (as usual) and just wants to repaint the door brown.

I think a navy would look awesome or even a dark royal blue! Red or black would also be nice.

We are shying away from the black since the house is trimmed in brown. I think I'm really going to push DH to do the door and shutters a darker blue and keep the trim brown. He said he wanted to do this today, but then he went golfing instead.

I LOVE red doors. My husband doesn't get why I love it so much, but I just think it's such a nice look!! He won with the color of the house, I say you win for color on the door and shutters! Good luck trying to persuade him. Color adds so much IMO!

I agree, I love red doors too. I'm just concerned because of the brown of our house that we really can't change. I think I'm going to push for the navy since it coordinates with both gray and brown.

That's true. I think navy will look nice to and add to the feel of your home.
