What color granite do you suggest?
Cherry cabinets and a slate floor...

pics would be helpful ....
do the cabinets have a glaze or stain?
and when you say slate, Im thinking grays/blues?
If the cabinets & floor are both on the darker side, Id go with a lighter granite.
I would bring small samples of floor & cabinet wood to the granite yard and just walk around and see what you like.
I found that when I went to the granite yard, the workers were very helpful and know what looks good with what, so they can definately offer good suggestions.
Remember to keep the back splash you think you like in mind too....

I don't have pix yet bc its a new construction..
My floor is a black slate.. and the cabinets are a cherry.. the blacksplash will be a black and white and yellow and blue Ceramic tile that sorta looks like the spode plates..

sounds pretty....look at pics from the home forum at gardenweb.com and bhg.com -that helped me a lot.....
you can check out this site to get ideas on colors,

but the granite I thought I loved totally changed when I went to the granite yard and saw the entire slab...thats the best suggestion - to go to the yard and bring your samples w/you!

pretty! I especially love the backsplash.
Theresa, since your backsplash is colorful & patterned, I think you should keep that in mind the most when picking granite, since they will be right next to each other. As shown in the pictures posted, cherry cabinets can look good with light or dark granite.

Theresa, you will go crazy cleaning black granite, the cabinets we are getting are a bit lighter than yours and we are choosing this granite

Tough call...I was always a fan of the darker look, but I absolutely LOVE hoe Jess' light granite looks. I think it would look amazing in your kitchen with all that light you have pouring in.
