What did you think of your post pregnancy body

when you saw yourself naked for the first time after giving birth????

I was freaked out. My once Gigantic belly was deflated and flopped over. I remember after being home a few days, I was still having a lot of pain in my c-section incision. I called the OB and they told me to look at it and explain the appearance to them.

I looked down and said "I can't see it!"
The nurse said, "Just lift up the belly and look underneath"

Seriously...I had to lift this big flap of skin up just to see my incision!!! All I could think of was those surgery shows where a patient loses hundreds of pounds after weight loss surgery and then has a lot of excess skin.

I was not prepared for that!

I think that my body looks like someone ran me over with a tractor and then pumped me full of lard. There. I said it.

I was scared to look at my belly, and really scared to look at the incision. I finally did the other day and it wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be. The incision is still covered with bandages so I'm not sure how I'll feel once they are off. I wonder if I'll ever look the way I did before.

Honestly, I was really unhappy that it looked like I gained weight and couldnt fit into my clothes, but even the dr. who released me from the hospital told me that I did not look like I just had a baby.

Even now - my butt and hips are whats keeping my clothes from fitting, and I'm a bit flabby from not working out, but my stomach is flat again and starting to get back some of the defintiion it used to have... I'm far from thrilled with it, but a lot happier than I thought I'd be....

I don't get intimate without a shirt on. For some reason, we shower together and I dress in front of DH, but I can't see myself in that position yet. Too much skin. A big scar. tons of stretch marks...deflated looking boobs. Nevermind him, I get turned off by me.

My body is exactly the same!!! Its so strange! I don't know why...but I look exactly the same (except I was much thinner when I was BF'ing) all my Pre-pregnancy clothes still fit me exactly the same. I don't have one stretch mark, nothing. Strange that. I am a big lovely hunk of momma (size 18) but I am exactly the same.

Im down to my pre-pregnancy weight, and things fit, but not the same. I cant get rid of this jelly belly, no matter how many sit-ups I do.

first time around I was actually pleasantly surprised (initially right after giving birth). Now that I'm pregnant again and my body is carrying totally different who knows what'll look like in a couple of months

Not happy after the first pregnancy at all. I was picturing that I would instantly have my old body back after having the baby. The jelly belly was a shock to me.

My boss's wife, who is a doula, said at 3 months, you will still look about 5 months pregnant.

After Maddie, I was thrilled. I was weighing less then before I got pregnant with Joseph & had boobs.

After I stopped nursing & continued eating as if I was, that's when the damage was done.

I can't complain. I actually look the same just 12 lbs heavier. I lost all of my pregnancy wieght but gained a few lbs. being a SAHM now. But it's no big deal I can knock it off in no time. I didn't get any stretch marks so I am grateful for that alone. All in all I'd say I look good.

I was HORRIFIED when I first saw myself in the mirror.

I somehow thought the stretch marks would look better and instead I think they looked worse.

I'm getting much better, but I still want to cry sometimes when I catch a glimpse of myself.

The first couple of months after Andrew I looked great but then I went back to work and forget it. I weigh more now then I did when I was PG

I was definitely scared to look at the incision. I was not happy to see the "jelly belly." I never had a belly before - my thighs & butt were always my problem area, so now I have 3 problem areas. But I was happy to see my boobs. Now they are back to the old size and look like deflated balloons.
