Re: What did your parents/in laws/siblings give your child for their baptism?

My parents: gave our son his cross + traveled from OK

My IL's: Frame and a Jacket Pouch

My hubby's brother: $200.00 savings bond + traveled from Cape Cod

My Brother & SIL: Lamb stuffy, Duck Book and an outfit + traveled from TX.

My two other brothers who did not come did not send anything. (Out of State)

Family that comes to anything is a gift alone ~ a real treat since we dont get to see much of my side of the family since they are out of state and my hubbys brother/SIL/nephew is not around the corner.

Money - they all gave money to the degree that they could afford.

Our parents also gave us clothes and other things too - but each card with a check.

Nothing. In my family a baptism isn't really a gift occasion. It's more of a celebration, we get together and go out for breakfast afterwards.

Re: What did your parents/in laws/siblings give your child for their baptism?

Mom/Dad - $150 check plus all my DD's baptismal accessories. (blanket, shoes, socks, bib, etc.)

Sister - Christening gown ($150) plus $200 check and a little Precious Moments Figurine

Brother - A bunch of clothes, stuffed animals, and toys

MIL/FIL - NOTHING! Not even a card.

SIL - $40

BIL - Baby bracelet which was about $15 and nothing else.......no card either (.......and he was the Godfather)

My In-Laws don't take much of an interest so I wasn't surprised by what we got (or didn't get) from them.

All other family and friends who came gave her $$$.

Re: What did your parents/in laws/siblings give your child for their baptism?

My parents gave ds a cross which has a diamond from my mothers grandmothers ring (essentially every grandchild she has a diamon comes out for a cross and the baby's birth stone goes in its place) as well as money in a college account that they set up

my fil gave money

my siblings gave actual gifts which, to be honest, i was very disspointed with because my brother and his wife gave ds a jogging suit... really to be a christening is more of a sentimental event and i would have rathered more of a keepsake type of item

dh's siblings gave money

Re: What did your parents/in laws/siblings give your child for their baptism?

My Parents: $ and her gown. (It technically belongs to my mom as it was her's and her father's, but she got it cleaned, pressed, etc. and got a slip)

FIL: $ and clothes

sister (godmother) white gold and diamond cross, bible, white bib, outfit

sister: rosary bead bracelet

brother: nothing, but he has been out of work. he felt bad about it even though i didn't want anything.

BIL (godfather)/SIL: gold bracelet with her name engraved.

SIL: NOTHINGChat Icon i am not upset about no gift, but no acknowledgment whatsoever. no card, no call saying how was the day (they live in FL) and she has a baby the same exact age. if it was my nephew i surely would have called and sent something, particularly when she knew how special and important this was to us.

Guests (all close family and friends) cash and clothes. People were extremely generous and kind. Any Sacrament is a big deal in my family, so people were just great.
