What do you feed your 1 year old...
What does a typical day of food look like for your 1 year old? Thanks!

Besides milk, breakfast is usually a combination of waffles or pancakes cut into bite size pieces or strips, fresh fruit cut up, oatmeal, cherios.
Lunch is always yogurt and something else like toast, cheese, and turkey cut up, fresh fruit cut up, left-over macaroni and veggies.
Dinner is usually what we are eating, just cut up small.

About how much milk do you give during the day, my daughter was just switched to regular milk a few days ago.

Re: What do you feed your 1 year old...
DS is 12.5 months and I am becoming so frustrated with table food. I guess we started offering it to him too late (around 10 months). He is good with his pincer grasp and gets the food in his mouth but once he does, he moves his tongue and it pushes the food out so not much actually gets swallowed. We offer bread, cheese, crackers, peas, carrots (soft and diced small), corn, pasta cut very small, yogurt melts, Rice Krispies... but he would never fill up on any of this so I still have to give him his cereals, yogurt and homemade purees to satisfy his hunger. As for milk, he has no problem drinking that from a sippy cup. I'd say 2-3 oz. with each meal. I still nurse him in the morning and night and sometimes during the day if we're home together and he's looking for it.
Anyone who had a hard time getting their DC on table food completely and off purees, please FM me (to not hijack the original poster's post). Thx.
ETA: Daycare is always offering foods to him throughout the day as well. We're just having a hard time getting him to chew/gum and swallow.

Re: What do you feed your 1 year old...
Breakfast... Mini pancakes or waffles with cut up strawberries and blueberries or bananas. sippy milk.. Filled half way, but he never finishes then I give him water
Snack... Cheerios and/or fruit with water. Maybe s piece of cheese
Lunch... Grilled cheese, peanut butter sandwich (got ok from Ped and he has no issues), pasta and veggies, trader joes chicken nuggets, organic turkey breast and cheese, veggies with any of the above or fruits. Also gets s cup of water.
Snack... Maybe puffs or cheerios or fruits. Sometimes milk.
Dinner... Whatever... Had cheeseburger the other night, he's had chicken, veggies, pasta, etc.
He eats anything and everything. He's 12 months. DS 1 on the other hand is 3 and hardly eats anything. Was never this easy with food and was on the bottle till 18 months and babyfood, which what seemed like forever. Each kid is different and their own pace

Sounds fine. Each kid is at their own pace. My first son does haver texture issues and didn't eat as much as your 1 yr old does. Still not as much at 3. Keep offering him for practice. Usually the crunchy stuff is best b.c it breaks down easily and fast. Try putting the food to the side so they get the hang of moving it with his tongue. Doesn't matter if they have teeth or not b.c they gum it.

We give our twins 8oz in the morning and 8oz at bedtime. If they don't finish it in the morning, I will give some with lunch, too.

Re: What do you feed your 1 year old...
Our day goes like this-
7:30ish- 6 oz milk 10:00ish- banana and yogurt or eggs or pancakes, water 1:00ish- usually fruit and string cheese, sometimes bread with jelly or mac-n-cheese, water 3:30ish- 6 oz milk 6:00ish- some kind of veggie (broccoli, peas and edamame are big hits), usually some meat, grilled chicken, hamburger, meatballs, water 8:00ish- 8 oz milk
I definitely need more variety. I'd love to try and give him what we eat more often, but since DH doesn't get home til 7 and DS eats at 6 it's hard to do. He also is not fond of most veggies...

Don't worry about hijacking. DD is having a little bit of a hard time as well with table foods. She'd prefer her baby jar food over mostly any table foods. She will chew and snack on some things but definitely not enough to make it a meal.
