What do you like in a salad?

I mean for a salad you are making a meal?

I have to stop spending so much on lunch-I figure I can bring in some salads but I get so bored with salads.
What do you like in your salad?
Things like beans, cheese, meat, olives- just throw some ideas out there.
Looking for some variety.

My latest obsession is baby spinach with the following:
Red Onion
Gorgonzola
real bacon bits
Candies Pecans
Dried cranberries
T. Marzetti Balsamic dressing.
It's off the hook delish!!!

I am simple. I just love some romaine lettuce with:
grilled chicken
croutons
green olives
feta cheese
red onion
and sometimes I will add walnuts

I like a mesclun mix with
strawberries
blueberries
mandarin oranges
a little sprinkle of parmesan
slivered almonds
w/ papaya poppyseed dressing

or
mesclun
shredded lightly roasted brussels sprouts
mandarin oranges
streamed (and cooled) string beans
w/ spicy Thai dressing

For lettuce I like butter, baby spinach, or romaine.

Cheese is usually feta but once in a while I'll do shredded cheddar.

For lunch, I'll do leftover chicken, frozen chicken tenders chopped up, hard boiled eggs.

I love throwing in frozen peas, corn, and edemame the night before or in the morning and they'll just defrost by lunch time.

Depending on what I have, other veggies would be
carrots
cucumbers
red onion
snap peas
grape tomatoes
broccoli

I usually use balsamic dressing.

My bring from home is kind of boring.
red leaf / iceberg mix
red cabbage
carrots
cucumbers
radishes
craisins if I have them
now that it is the season, sliced pears
protein - either egg, feta or blue or mozzarella cheese, tuna

I don't like olives or peppers or meat in my salad.

dressing is thinned out Thousand Island, Ranch or Ken's Country French.
(I thin with cold water - doesn't affect the taste and makes the dressing spread better)

I like a kitchen sink salad with anything I have! I will put in any roasted veggies I have, quinoa, beets, chickpeas, sunflower seeds, craisins...anything I can find! I'm not a huge lettuce fan, so I try to cover it up with as many add-ins as I can find!

I just need an avocado and some croutons! I'm obsessed, I eat it probably every other day with kens honey balsamic dressing. Sometimes I'll throw some corn or a hard boiled egg in.

Everything and anything! I make sure to include a protein (beans, cheese, nuts, lean meat) and include as many colors as possible!!

It depends on my mood but my favorite things (not necessarily all at the same time) are mescalin greens, spinach, hard boiled eggs, grilled chicken, almond slivers, tomato, cheese, cucumber, mushrooms, granny smith apples, strawberries, hearts of palm, olives, red onion, marinated artichoke hearts and candied pecans.

some things that i do to make it different:

feta, goat cheese, fresh mozz

beets (I get the vacuum packed pre cooked packages)
artichoke hearts
hearts of palm
good olives
dried cherries from TJs
candied pecans (also from TJs)

you can do an asian-type salad with chow mein noodles, edamame, mandarin oranges, dried cherries, carrots, cucumber and an asian sesame dressing

you can do a taco-type salad with crushed tortilla chips, cheddar cheese, black beans, corn, scallions, avocado with a chipotle ranch dressing or even just salsa as dressing

Brianna's Blush Wine Vinaigrette (delish)

I also like my taco salad:

Taco meat (beef or shredded chicken)

shredded cheese (jack/ mexican blend)
sour cream or ranch dressing
salsa
crushed tortilla chips if I'm feeling bad

There's a big salad place by my job so I literally just copy their menu ideas when I get bored. LOL. I buy everything at the grocery store and just mix it up once in a blue.
