what do you put on your babys butt
We used to use Vaseline on DD when she was born but after a while we just stopped.
She recently had a diaper rash so we used Desitin, when that didn't seem to help we tried Butt paste.
It finally went away but now I'm wondering if I should use something to prevent another one or to just keep her more comfortable.
What do you use if anything?

we use desitin, but only the change before going to bed if they need it or not WE have never had a rash.

Have used all three of what you mentioned. I think the desitin and butt paste work pretty well but the key I thought was changing her more frequent when she was dirty. Seemed at that time once you changed her she was dirty again. The. Constant moisture was the issue, and needed some air time.

I've gone through all of the treatments... IMO, triple paste (though $$) is worth every cent. For DS, desitin works too, but for DD, triple paste only. I use both as a prevention too every night.

We always used Boudreauxs Butt Paste, worked awesome. On the rare occassion DD got a rash we would use Triple Paste and that would always clear the rash right up.

I use the regular A&D as a barrier on DS' skin right before bed & after a bath. The 2x he had a slight rash, I used desitin creamy to clear it up.

Aquaphor with every diaper change. When she has a rash I have a few go-to concoctions that have helped.

We have been using A&D since he came home from the hospital....we put it on his diaper at every change....after he poops we put the destin on...hes 10 months old and has NEVER had a rash!!

With my first I used all kinds of diaper creams...desitin, butt paste, etc.
She got lots of rashes.
With Riley I used A&D for the first few weeks, and then stopped and now we use nothing.
She has never had a rash.
Once or twice I've put some desitin on her when her bum was a little more pink looking then usual, but that's it.

What I use at every diaper change since she came home from the hospital is Aquafor. Acutaly I get the Target version of Aquafor which is literally HALF the price and the same exact thing.
I coat her butt and diaper area at each change and I can say she has gotten maybe 2 diaper rashes in her entire life.
If she does get a rash- I use butt paste and then put the aquafor on top.
But the aquafor really acts as a good barrier to prevent it.
It also helps nasty poops to wipe off a lot easier!!

we use powder with every change and have only had maybe 1-2 minor rashes in which case we use triple paste.

I use A&D ointment after poopie diaper changes. This seems to keep rashes away. DS has never had a severe one. If I notice extra redness, I use Desitin which takes the redness away. DS#1 had one bad diaper rash and I used Butt Paste which worked. Ped said to try not to wipe off at pee pee diaper changes, just apply more (obviously have to wipe off during poopie changes).

We used A&D original ointment after every poop, and Desitin or Butt Paste (I had a sample) as needed if a rash occurs.

Vaseline (Generic Version). I use desitin max strenght on the rare occasion she has a diaper rash, which hasnt happened since her newborn days.

We use corn starch or powder. She is 2 n has had only about 2-3 rashes. Corn starch is cheap n works well!!
