What do you remember about the "day" your DC was born. For Ex: Weather, Major headlines, etc.

I'll start.

5/21/06 - I remember it was a cloudy day.
I also remember the Yankees loosing to the Mets (score 4-3).
While at the operating table, the doctors and including DH were talking about sports.

Major headlines for the week - I don't think there was anything major going the week DS was born.

8/14/07 - It was a sunny and hot day.
Again, I remember the Yankees loosing to Baltimore.

Major headlines for the week - Hurricane Dean, Miners that were trapped in Utah, and Earthquake in Peru that killed hundreds.

9/22/2007.. i know there was a met game on and the entire labor room watching it, including dh and i lay there screaming for someone to hold my legs as i push ..

I think they lost that game, dont remember.

It was partly sunny and not really hot, but i went into hospital at 9am and didnt really get a chance to feel temp.

All I can remember is that Celebrity Big Brother was on the TV and I watched it for DAYS while I was waiting to have this kid...and after he was born. I remember Pete Burns was on it, and a politician acting like a lecherous pervert.

Thats what I remember!

I remember watching every Eyewitness news broadcast when I was in labor and the Ellen Degeneres breakdown over the adopted dog was all anyone seemed to be talking about.

Hmmmm..

#1 was born at 9:20am on 9/7/05 and I was in the hospital since 2am, so I don't remember anything about that day. As far as 9/6/05, though...I woke up crying because it was the first day back to work for teachers and I wasn't there. It was a gorgeous day out. Hurricane Katrina was BIG news! Oh, and I remember the Mets tanking a St. Louis series that weekend.

#2 was a scheduled c-section on 5/8/07 at 5pm. I remember it was a spectacular day, weather wise. I remember crying my eyes out at the door as DH drove away with Katherine to go to MILs. She was waving and I was waving and it was our last moment as just the "3 of us." I remember gargling with cherry flavored seltzer all day long since I wasn't allowed to eat at all I driving away from our house to the hospital thinking there just couldn't be a better day to be born. And I remember the doctors and us talking about Virginia Apgar (she of the "Apgar score") during the surgery and if she was pretty or not World events...couldn't tell you a thing!

DD was born on 9-23 at 6:43 am.

It was a pretty warm day, from what I remember, I was inside all day, but it looked nice outside.

the big news was that Brit lost her kids.

10/4/00- i went in to be induced at 4pm, it was a hot day, and i was so calm and ready to have her. i just had a normal day, then packed it up and went in.
7/29/07- it was hot as hell, i knew he was coming out so i had to mop my floors and get my brows done. the minute i sat down (around 4pm) my contractions started.

4-18-04 in GA.
It was a gorgeous sunny, warm (one of the warmest days) day. Very peaceful and beautiful out...
Sept.06- Day I found out I lost my baby... Again, another warm, peaceful day.
TBC... for March 08 baby

A day I would never forget.....7/7/05

The London Bombing's happend that day.

My BP was very high and I was so swollen because I ate a hot dog and chips on July 4th--lol

I remember going into the Dr's office and him telling me he has to deliver Julia right away by c-section and I couldn't stop crying, I was so nervous!!

My DH was away on a business trip and had to get back right away so he can be at the birth of our child.......he showed up an hour before she was born....

The medication they gave me for my BP made me feel like I was on FIRE!!! ThankGod my mom was with me till DH showed up to fan me and keep me cool.


It was a beautiful sunny day, and very hot outside.

Middle of the night for me.

The biggest thing I remember is that my cell phone was dying and would keep beeping while I was trying to figure out if I was actually in labor.

It was a beautiful warm day!! I remember it perfectly because I had to walk from my Dr's office to the hospital (right next door) and I had my flip flops on and it was sunny and gorgeous

Hmmm, well the day I went into labor happened to be April Fool's day so that was interesting! I'm happy she was born on the 2nd though! Oh, and that morning I had actually called my sister and said hurry up come over I'm going into labor..APRIL FOOL's! Needless to say when I called her again later that day, she thought I was lying

dd born 3/20/07, I remember it was sunny and beautiful that day , in the 70's

I remember that day, the news reported that they found that boy scout that was lost for a few days

10/28/06- night of world series- I believe the cardinals won- right after they popped the champagne in the locker room to celebrate my water broke! (I guess DD is a cardinals fan?)
It was pouring raining- I walked out of the house and said, "it was a dark & stormy night"...

It was the five year anniversary of 9/11...pretty impossible to forget!

I had to have DH turn off the TV in the room cause i started feeling depressed. When DS was born, those feelings went out the window and it reaffirmed that life goes on and the day can't be all sadness... (doesn't mean I still won't feel a tremendous amount of sadness every year on that day...I just now have something special to distract me from it!)

**I also remember it was cooler for early september and raining on and off all day.

11/23/02 - I remember it being bright out but cold. I also remember that DS was born a minute before lunchtime and my Dr order a pastrami sandwich for his lunch lol.

11/27/02- DS was released from the NICU. I remember the nurse calling telling me that he was ready to come home and we could come now but that it started to snow so if I wanted to I could wait till it stops. I told her that I would rent a snow plow if I needed to.

It was also hot and sunny.

I remember I was in the middle of a huge office move the day I went to the doc at 37 weeks 3 days...I almost missed the train to go. My doc walked in, took one look at me and the nurse taking my BP (155/100) and sent me to the hospital with my 24 hour urine collection (LOVED carrying THAT around) It was 9/7/05...that night DH and I watched the Agassi/Federer Semi into the night and Katrina was still HUGE frontline news.

9/8/05, I remember AFTER the epidural watching Oprah's big special from New Orleans and then they were REPLAYING the Agassi/Federer match when my doc walked in as I was about to push. I had to YELL at DH and the doc to um, pay attention to the woman in the stirrups and not a rerun of tennis.

DS was born at 2:41 am in the morning and I don't have a clue what was going on weatherwise at that time.

All I remember is the radio being on in the OR, the doctors chit chatting while cutting me open and DH and I were singing along to a U2 song.

born 4.24.07 I remember taking the subway to NYU Medical Center and insisting that we NOT take our hospital bag because I was sure that we were going to be sent home. For some reason I didnt believe I was in labor. So we got there and my Dr. looked at us like we were idiots when he asked where our hospital bag was and I said "it's in queens."

weather was absolutely gorgeous and I remember thinking that it was a beautiful day to have a baby.

World Events - I remember George Bush was in town that day and there was bad traffic on the east side - so maybe something was going on at the United Nations - I dont remember.
