I don't remember too much - I was too nervous (scheduled c-section & I'm a first time mom). That's why I had my DH save the day's Newday! I still haven't read it, but I know it's there!

I went into labor at 5am and we finally headed to the hospital around 11am. I was in so much pain by then that honestly the sky could have been falling and I don't think I would have noticed. I do remember flipping through the TV after my epidural and finding nothing good to watch on TV (it was a saturday)

I was laboring the day before which was my neices birthday. All I kept saying to myself was "I can't have this baby on Izabella's birthday". I didn't tell anyone I was in labor and no one knew. How I managed to drive from LI to Flushing I don't know and I kept having converations with people but then would block them out for the contractions, lol. Then when it came time for dinner I knew I shouldn't eat alot but my FIL kept insisting so I at and then all I thought about was pooping on the table . As far as weather it was in the 60's I think but then it rained while I was in the hospital and the day we brought DS home it was 75 degrees and the day before Easter. The best Easter I have had so far .

My first contraction was at midnight that day and the first thing that came into my head was "oh man, I forgot how much labor stinks" . I was very calm and we were staying with my parents at the time. So I told my mom that she needs to stay home from work and she asked why. So I told her I was in labor and she asked if I was sure . She was cring at every contraction I was happening because she was proud of control I had. Then like Eireann I started crying because I had to leave DS at home and I starting freaking at the thought of being a family of 4. But we got to Winthrop and parked and I walked. I truely felt great and L&D deliver also didn't believe I was in labor. The day was HOT and HUMID, but still beautiful.

Looking back and I want to relive those days

3/15/05~It was very sunny, I remember it vividly because the sun was streaming through my hospital window right into my eyes which in turn was making my contractions all the more irritating, and it was really cold! I also remember watching Maury "baby daddy" show

great thread - sunny day in florida, warm and i don't remember any special headlines...just me having my first baby!

I was in the way to the hospital at 6 a.m. after my water broke, but I can remember driving there and seeing the sun come up. And it was Mother's Day - and the day my first child was born. Very special IT was also very warm that week and that's all I remember.

On the way to the hospital at 4 a.m., it had rained before and I remember telling DH to watch the puddles but drive fast! Don't remember much else except I had been secretly hoping they would be born on the same day, but she came 3 days before her brother's 2nd b-day.

6/24/07 - It was excruciatingly hot. I believe 103 degrees out.

9/19/01 - Middle of the night. Perfectly clear. Headlines were 9/11 rescue operations. Everyone was praying for a miracle. Bush demanded that Al-Quaida turn over Bin Laden.

6/15/03 - Middle of the night again. Father's Day. I know it was a clear night because I remember yelling at DH why he was driving so slowly. Headline news - can't remember it.

10/21/06 - my water broke very early @ 5am, so the sun was not out yet, but later in the day is was sunny, I remember getting to the hospital in the dark and it was COLD! I was too nervous to remember anything else.

I gave birth Labor Day weekend 2006. I remembered it poured out the night after they were born because people coming to visit were soaked.

I also remember that being the weekend that that Crocidile Hunter died and I think Anna Nicole's son died too.

I remember the weather being sooo nice and unseasonably warm leading up to that day. Then the day I went into labor the temps dropped and I was freeeezing going to the hospital.

In the headlines, I remember watching report after report about the eColi outbreak at TacoBells. I was glad I didn't eat it before I had DD

12/1/97 Don't really remember what was going on in the world but I do remember it being cold and a long delivery. I was in labor for 23.5hrs 10mins away from a c-sec then my son was ready to come on his own.

4/9/5 weather was nice but delivery was unexpected. I went for my 38wk ob apt to find out I was losing fluid and had to go in to be induced.

2/15/7 The snow storm that came for Valentines Day. Woke up Valentine's Day night to my 9yr old vomiting in our bed then to find my 1yr old also vomiting started to get pain as cleaning up the mess, had to call my mother to come to watch the kids and as dh & I were getting into the car I slipped on the ice but caught myself before falling to the ground. Arrived at the hospital to later find out I needed an emergency c-sec the babies heart rate was dropping (cord around his neck) Dh started to get sick had to leave my sister came up and while I was having my c-sec I just remember talking to my dr re how nervous I was but he was great and had me smiling the entire time.

9/26/07 DS was born and these were the headlines.

9/30/07 The day we came home and the Mets ended their season

April 17, 2007

It was cold and rainy. I was never more scared than I was that day. I remember it was still dark as DH and I walked from the car in the parking garage to the hospital at almost 6:30 a.m. I was in Labor and Delivery Room #10. I remember watching Jeff Probst from Survivor on Regis and Kelly. I remember wanting to watch the channel 7 soap operas, but they kept breaking in with special reports on the Virginia Tech school shooting (very sad). I remember being so happy that they let my mother and father into the room to see me, and then, later, after DS was born, being so happy that they let my mother, father AND sister who traveled 2 hours to get there to see me and the baby. I remember my entire body was shaking uncontrollably the whole time. I remember the 5 o'clock Eyewitness News was on when I was pushing and when I gave birth to DS. I remember feeling tremendous relief and joy as soon as DS was born - like he's here, I did it!!

8:00am - alarm went off for work and I thought I pee'd myself while shutting it off. My water actually broke.
-1st 2 contractions were 5 min. apart.
- Called DH who worked an overnight and was still in Queens(I am in Port Jeff)
-Called my 1st client of the day(my friend Shannon) and told her she was not getting her hair highlighted anytime soon(by me)
-Called my Boss
-called my Dr
-took a shower
-It was snowing
-went to the hospital w/Dh and MIL
- met my parents at hospital
-8 hrs of labor
- Baby in distress
-c-section at 4:36pm

I was in the hosptal since the night before being induced. The pain started to hit after this nasty PA broke my water. I don't remember much but the weather was warm and nice. And I had my first baby!

8/3/05- It was HOT. It was a nice day out, but it was really hot (100+) & humid.

10/1/07 - i was home alone (DH was working overnight shift) at 2:00 a.m. my water broke. DD wasn't born until 10/2/07 at 12:18 a.m.

i know the weather was sunny and warm still but that's it

12/28/05 It was my bday!!! other than that, i know it was cold... and I was in a twilight type coma all day so i dont remember much.

07/07/07 - Drove thru McD's w/ husband so he wouldn't be hungry, I was in labor in the drive-thru clutching the passenger oh-$hit handle during contractions and his order. Later he went to a kabob place and brought the whole L&D floor lunch while I was progressing. DH is very food oriented. I also remember walking in L&D and seeing another women in labor in the halls walking, stopping and breathing in pain, and all I could think about was here we go. As far as the weather and what was going on that day I have no idea. It was hot but I was inside.

Well, DD was born at 2:30am, so I don't really know what the weather was like at that time (think it was rainy still though), but the night before, while I was in labor, DH was hoping to pass the time by watching the Mets game, but it got rained out , so he had to watch a re-run. He'd hop out of the chair and grab my hand when I had a contraction, then go back to his chair and watch the game while I fell back asleep-- pretty comical.

It was fast too, thank goodness-- went to the hospital at 7pm for scheduled induction, was in my hospital room by 7:30pm, and DD was born at 2:30am the following morning-- I don't know how women go through lonnnnng labors!

The next 2 days I was in the hospital were hot, I remember people saying that, and the day we were released was hot & sunny too.

Good memories

just that it was really hot that day and hot that entire week ( hope we get warm weather like that again for his bday)
