I htink that as long as you are realistic in the begining about how hard it is to find it and you know you can not freak out about it...well then I think its a good thing. I happen to love mine! I am 29 weeks and used it just the other day (Joey wasn't being very active so I got a bit worried)

Re: What do you think about Dopplers?
I just called my doctor to confirm that he DOES check for a heart beat every visit. It was driving me crazy not knowing! I feel so much better now.
Thanks everyone!

My Dr also always checked for the HB at every visit.
Doppler was not for me. I think it would just make me worry more if I didn't find the heartbeat one day, meanwhile the baby might just be in a bad position or because I'm not a trained pro, I'd be doing it wrong.
that is why I don't have one.

There are also a couple of articles I found online that suggest that constant exposure isn't even tested medically- don't know if it has any long term developmental affects, etc. QUOTE] This is my exact thought. I don't want to chance anything.
