After years of being in animal rescue and nurturing many dogs back to health...i have found that Merrick is by far the best dry food around. It can also be mixed with a little warm water and it makes a great gravy that my doggies love. It's much more expensive than most commercial brands ($45 for a 30lb bag)...but WELL worth it. They get all the nutrients needed and it's essentially the same as feeding them a raw diet. Plus, less is needed for them to get the daily nutritional requirement, so the bag lasts longer.

PS> I used to use Beneful, but an animal trainer and very knowledgeable animal lover friend of mine told me that many of the Pedigree products (As well as other "commercial" brands) are actually made not only from slaughtered horses and very dead cows (like, dead before anybody kills them)....but they've also found evidence of euthanized cat and dog remains in them.....therefore, I stopped using "commercial" products about 3 years ago.

Just keep in mind, that changing foods can cause some temporary digestive problems, and keep an eye out for any allergies.

Best of luck!!!

ETA: PLease stay FAR FAR away from IAMS or any IAMS related products.....this has been discussed on numerous occasions on this board.....just do a google search for IAMS video and you will find out why!!!!

where do i get merrick food? is it organic??

I give my dog Iams - its a green bag. The food is small.

My cat actually eats it too instead of eating her own food!
