What fabric sofa do you have if you have young children?

Looking to buy a new couch set. DS is constantly spilling liquids and snacks on the couch.

What fabric is easy to clean and wipe?

I'm thinking we should get leather?

I had a microfiber couch that was treated to protect against stains Chat Icon . It looked horrible once DS started spilling on it.

I have mircrofiber and love it, just clean with a wet paper towel or baby wipe and it is good.

We have a microfiber set (it feels/looks like microsuede) from Raymour and Flanigan. It is 4 years old and we only use baby wipes on it, and it looks practically brand new (when it's clean Chat Icon)

we have leather which I love & can't even count how many times he has dripped a little milk from his sippy - but I'm scared what will happen once he starts to use a pen, pencil, or a pair of scissors.

Microfiber. DS 1 had pyloric stenosis AND severe reflux, so you can only imagine how many gallons of spitup were on that thing. Baby wipes and it all came out. Now we're on to the jelly/cream cheese/crayon/ketchup etc. phase. Nothing a quick wipe doesn't get out.

Microfiber, and we clean it with a wet cloth. When DD spills something on it, it looks horrible until i clean it though. and with the cruising along the couch it's always nasty looking lately. i clean it once a night.

Same (except our set is about 2 years old). But the baby wipes always do the trick....oh and the chocolate brown color helps also Chat Icon

That's the color we have. I am so thankful we went dark instead of light Chat Icon

Ivory white Leather, condition and clean once a month and looks like new, we've had since we got married and it still looks great 3 years later.

DS climbs up and walk all over it with his street shoes when I can't catch him in time, nothing stains it, everything wipes off easy.

Re: What fabric sofa do you have if you have young children?

We just ordered a new couch for our family room. It's the room we spend most of our time in and watch TV. We didn't want microfiber, my DH and I both don't find any of the grades of microfiber comfortable. We were told to just not get anything with natural fiber and stick with poly blends. We chose a poly blend for the couch and a textured one for the chairs. We will hope for the best and plan to replace when it gets old and sad looking.

a textured pattern from La-z Boy. Love it--we've had it for 6 years, and it looks good as new.

Microfiber but I don't love it, not because its bad with dd but its not good with dog hair. We are looking at getting a textured fabric now.

Re: What fabric sofa do you have if you have young children?

we have washable canvas slipcovers which do wash very well but need to have it done every few months or so and it is a pain. But everything has come out including pen and magic marker which we would be screwed if we had leather.
I really wish I had gone with microfiber in a dark color though.
