At 12: Lake George with family, Disney with my grandparents and bike riding every day in between.
At 14: The bike was collecting dust and I was hanging out at night, getting really buzzed off one wine cooler and acting stupid.

Hmmm ... we always drove somewhere ... I think during that time we'd gone to Montreal one summer and Toronto another with stops in Niagra Falls and Buffalo (my dad had a college friend there) ...
My dad was a teacher so he had off all summer and when we didn't go away on a vacation, we were probably at Jones Beach or at my grandmother's who lives in the Hamptons.

I spent those summers in Florida with my grandparents. I think at 12 & 13 it was for the entire summer. At 14, it might have been for 5 or 6 weeks. It was fun since we had lots of friends and family down there.

This is an easy one for me. From the time I was born, we use to go to our summer cottage in Maine on the lake! I use to spend my days in the sun, swimming, tubing, going strawberry picking, local fairs & festivals. Only thing to worry about was if it was going to rain!!!!
The summer I was 12, I did take swimming lessons at the state park up there.
Oh boy, what I would do to have summers like that again

At 12 years old I belonged to Marjorie Post Park Pool in Massapequa. I was on their Swim team and had a great group of girl friends and we hung out at the pool all day. And tried to find cute boys to kiss!
What a good time!!!!! Thanks for letting me remember that special time in my life!

14-didnt do anything....
we never went away durin the summer w/my family...

We spent every summer since I was four at my house in Montauk.
I cannot STAND the city in the summer and it makes me really sad and cranky for those summers when I was a kid

12- can't remember- lol, but probably swimming in my parents pool and hanging out with my friends
14- this was the year we went out west on vacation for 2 weeks. it was my first plane ride, and we flew into south dakota. we rented a mini van and went all around out west to all the national parks out there- yellowstone, badlands, mesa verde, grand canyon.. it was great

13- Newsday route. A month in Ireland styaing with family.
14- Working at McDonalds/Foodtown
Because my dad was a single parent, vacations were not a regular occurance growing up.

12 - Day Camp - I think it was a tween travel camp... or something like that. We went to Mets / Yankee Games, broadway shows, the ballet, etc. I really liked it.
14 - Spent days with cousins who lived nearby, friends houses, spent some time w/ a friend who had a summer house in the Hamptons, babysat, 2 week Cheerleading Camp.

I never went to summer camp. In HS I went to cheerleading camp. I was ahome-body. We had a pool and always had our friends from the neighborhood over.

12: First Trip to US. We stayed with my Uncle in West Babylon, my Uncle in Chicago and a few weeks in Siesta Key, FL.
14: Spent the Summer in our cottage in Co. Mayo on a lake. It's where we spent every Summer as kids and I have the the best memories

12: We drove cross country when we moved from Delaware to So. California. My parents planned a 2 week trip and we stopped so many places, it was great - best vacation ever.
13: Weekend trips to LA, San Pedro, Palm Springs, San Diego, etc.
14: Moved to LI, that was the summer my parents split up.
