Re: what is so wrong about being fair-skinned?
Oooohhh I'm reading all these posts and I feel so guilty. I wish I could just stay my true color. But I physically and mentally cannot. When I was in highschool, I got voted tannest in the senior class. I worked at a tanning salon so it was readily available. I finally broke the mold last year and only tanned for my sisters wedding that was in december. This year I have gone twice a month I have to stop but I admit it I love the sun, at least now I wear sunscreen 30

I too embrace my paleness and am all abut wearing hats and sunscreen in the sun. I just smile when someone makes a comment about my paleness.

I am as white as a ghost. I hate the sun and stay out of it at all costs. I don't tan at all, I burn. My legs are so pale, someone once asked me why I was wearing white stockings with my shorts

Same for me- it's barely halfway through May and he's already brown and thats just from walking around outside.
I've always been lily-white and TRIED the tanners, but I always screw it up and wind up with blotches. I even had it professionally done years ago- and even THEY screwed it up (I'm THAT pale)
Still- not worth the skin cancer and wrinkles to me......

Re: what is so wrong about being fair-skinned?
Over the past few years, I've developed some kind of wierd sensitivity to the sun and break out in splotches on my neck and arms if I'm out in the sun too long.
I was working in the yard for about an hour yesterday, and my forearms got really red and started itching badly.
On our honeymoon when DH (who is also fair) and I sat by the pool, I was wrapped in a robe, big hat, tons of sunscreen, sitting under an umbrella, etc. The othe swimmers looked at me like "what's the point?"

I'm not fair skinned, but I don't think there's anything wrong with it. The only thing that would annoy me is sun burn. My cousins get burnt VERY easily, so they are constantly putting sunblock on.

Re: what is so wrong about being fair-skinned?
I'm not PALE. I'm FAIR-SKINNED. And I think it's beautiful!
And when all of the tanning bed divas are 40 looking 60, I'll look 30 with my fair, unwrinkled, soft, non-leathery skin and cute freckles!
There's nothing at all wrong with being fair. I think fair skin is beautiful. When have you seen a porcelain doll with a tan?

Ignor it!! They will wish they had your skin when they are old and wrinkly when they are older!

I love my pale skin, but I could do without seeing all my veins. They are not even close to the surface of my skin, but I'm just so translucent.

Re: what is so wrong about being fair-skinned?
I am very fair-skinned and have never gone to a tanning salon. I rarely lay in the sun, and when I do, I slather myself in sunblock. Even if I try to tan, I can't. I go from white to red, back to white.

Re: what is so wrong about being fair-skinned?
I am fair, I admit, I don't love it. I envy golden brown legs and shoulders. I tan in a bottle at times or spray tan. I instantly burn, so that's that....
