What is the most you've ever spent on a dinner out? (two people)

The Ruth Chris post had me thinking...

We've never spent more than prob $150 on going out for a nice dinner. I think we've spent that amount twice in our whole relationship Chat Icon

I know that isn't crazy...but when we go out its almost always right around $50-$60 max, even cheaper if we go to our favorite mexican place. The two of us can eat there for $40 and that includes a few drinks each!

I guess I'd spend more money if we had it, but we don't, lol...

A little over USD$500 when we were in Italy for our honeymoon.

We really love wine, so we could easily run up a bill in the thousands if we let ourselves go crazy on the wine selection... Luckily that hasn't happened... yet!

Ahhh Italy sounds so so nice, I hope to go someday!!

We aren't wine drinkers at all..if we were I'm sure the bills would be higher. DH is prob thankful i'm a cheap irish beer chugging gal! Chat Icon

I think we spent close to $400 for the both of us at Quality Meats for our 3rd anniversary. Luckily we had a $100 g/c, plus our parents both gave us $100 ea as a gift, so it didn't 'cost' us that much .. but we went all out on wine, appetizers, dinner, sides, dessert and after dinner drinks. We were very full and very drunk that night, LOL

As of right now, I want to say over $200. Just one time at a pretty nice steak house in the city, with the works.

Re: What is the most you've ever spent on a dinner out? (two people)

A little over $125 with tip in Rome on our HM. It was a 5 course meal with unlimited wine for me and after dinner drinks for DH.

I'll never forget- after salad and pasta and such, I had an incredible stuffed veal chop and a stuffed marinated artichoke with a foot long stem (my favorite part)... DH had sauteed calamari, crabcakes, a cold seafood salad, etc. SO GOOD.

It was NOT expensive for what it was and we were there for hours. Worth every penny!

It was a small, family-run place in a residential neighborhood off the beaten path. We were the only ones in the restaurant for a good hour or so, then an American seminary student with visiting friends came in - turns out they were from Merrick! Small world.

The homemade wine was soooo good, I couldn't remember how to get back to the hotel and our 20 minute walk turned into an hour Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon... ehhh, we had nothing else to do and it was a beautiful night!

ANYWAY, I digress...
It was definitely one of my favorite honeymoon memories. Chat Icon

$250 not including the tip. We only had 2 drinks each. It was before we owned a house- those days are gone now! LOL

I believe we spent over $400 at the Chef's Table at Victoria & Alberts at the Grand Floridian at WDW on our honeymoon and again for our first anniversary.

Between $200 and $300. Uncle Jack's in Bayside (excellent food & service, but still overpriced in my opinion), and Victoria & Albert's in Disney (worth it as a one-time splurge).

Somewhere around $175, and just once. Can't afford to repeat that often, but it was worth it!

around 400

One of the things my DH has no problem spending money on is going out to really nice places to eat.

Re: What is the most you've ever spent on a dinner out? (two people)

Twice at least $500...I know, I know..it was before the house...and for GOOD reasons...

1-Nobu-we had the tasting menu and some drinks...we'd cleaned out his apt. (trust me, it was WORTH this meal!) and found a bunch of change that we cashed in and used to pay for most of the meal

2-Le Bernadin-we'd both been through a hellish 2 years and both graduated..he with his MBA and I with my certificate in school admin.

Now...we've pared down QUITE a bit, but boy do we savor the memories!
