What is your "dream job"?
What would be your "dream job"? It's a two-scenario question...
First, if money were no object. It's hypothetical, so in this scenario, you had plenty of money to live on (spouse has great job, you have solid investments, etc...).
The second scenario is where the salary is important, but the job requirements are met. If you want to be a surgeon, then in this scenario, you've already been through medical school. You have your teaching degree if you want to go into teaching, etc.
If money were no object, I'd want to be a free-lance carpenter or metal artist/builder, I think. I'd love to be able to build various things that are a combination of art and science.
If salary was important, I'd want to be an architect. Again, a mix of art and science.

Re: What is your "dream job"?
I'd love to be a pastry chef and own my own little bake shop. Something cute and quaint where the focus is on just a few awesome and perfect pastries. In this "ideal" situation, once my DD, who LOVES to bake, is old enough we'd work together and my DH would run the business for us so we could focus on baking. This would be heaven!!!
If money mattered, I think I'd like to be one of those cool HGTV chicks that can do both carpentry and interior design. It would be awesome if my DH and I could be a husband and wife team like Chip and Joanna Gaines. lol We're both HUGE DIY'ers, we've redone our whole house on our own, and my DH is super handy. I think we'd be awesome!

This! I was a cake decorator for 5 years and almost went to pastry school but decided to go into business instead, for accounting. If I could, I would open a little bakery and make specialty fondant cakes where money was no object and I could really take the time to work on each cake. When I did it in the past, you had to rush through everything because there was SO many orders. I still work there every once in a blue to help the owner so I still get my fix. :)

Re: What is your "dream job"?
Years ago I saw a question similar to this on LIF - "what's your dream job if money were no object?" and at that moment I thought that I'd be a child psychologist if I could. That got me thinking and I researched what I needed to do - get a post-bacc in psych since I was an econ major and then grad school. I told my husband it was what I wanted, applied to Columbia's post-bacc program, got in, quit my job and now many years later, I'm a psychologist.
If money mattered, I'd still be the same thing. I make a good amt for the 6-10 hours I work a week.

if money were no object i'd love to either have a chocolate shop or a stationery shop.
If salary were important, I'd like to be an event coordinator, party planner. although these days my patience for people gets less and less..lol.

Re: What is your "dream job"?
If money were no object, I'd love to be a nail polish designer. I've just started to dip my toes in the water with this - just made a couple of bottles last week and am looking to make some more this weekend. Right now, it's a hobby, but I have started to research what steps I need to take to make it a business should I want to do so.
If salary was important and my skill requirements were met, I think I'd like be a director or assistant director of a young adult cancer organization. I know those jobs don't pay well since they're usually non profits, but that's okay with me. Also I wouldn't want to work for a charity organization where the pay is really great - I avoid those like the plague when it comes to my own life. But for now, I'm content with doing volunteer work for organizations that mean the world to me <3

Re: What is your "dream job"?
My answer is the same for both scenarios,
I would love to be a judge, lawyer or a FBI/CIA agent - though this dream has died down a bit now.

Re: What is your "dream job"?
not important : cafe / pastry shop.
important : Nurse. I've always wanted to get into nursing, but never did. Regret it now, and it is way too late for me to do something about it.
I'm pretty much focused on retirement now.

Three top dream jobs (all would make good money, so they fulfill both questions, but I don't have the talent for at least the 1st 2 lol)
1. Today Show co-host 2. Professional tennis player 3. The person that designs the rooms for the Pottery Barn and/or Ballard Designs catalogs
More realistically, I would love to open a doggy daycare/animal rescue place

I'm lucky enough that when I realized my dream job (librarian), I went for it. I think I would want to work in a part-time position in a public library if money were no object, but I'm pretty happy being a full-time school librarian now.

My old job used to do a volunteer day every year for one of these on Long Island. So inspiring!

Dream job - be an archivist for something cool like the MET/Smithsonian or find an untouched collection of photography from the 70s punk scene, 40s fashion, etc.
Dream job for money - be involved in the entertainment industry - whether a casting director, archivist for Disney, etc. At some point I looked into being a movie preservationist for the old reels that are disintegrating, but I'm color blind so I wouldn't really be able to restore things properly (I guess it would be ok if it were B&W, though).
