what kind of doctor for a hernia?
Not sure if I have a hernia, but am really suspecting I do. What kind of dr would I see?

A general surgeon. Beware though, they make it seem like you have to schedule surgery ASAP. I got a hernia during my 2nd pregnancy, the surgeon made it seem like I should have it fixed as soon as I recovered for the c-sec... it's been 2 1/2 yrs now and I never had the surgery, and all is well.

General surgeon. I used Dr David Halpern out of Wintrhop Hospital and LOVED him

Be careful cause it can get strangulated and therefore give you alot more pain and more problems!

I first went to my regular dr and she ordered a CT scan of my abdomen which confirmed an umbilical hernia. After the results, she sent me to a surgeon. I had it repaired before conceiving my 2nd DS. Unfortunately, I now have another umbilical hernia after carrying my second son. I haven't done anything About it yet though.
