What kind of kid do you have?
So, I took Alex to the Aquarium this morning, and OMG, it was SO much fun. I live for this kind of stuff, and I'm ecstatic that I finally have an excuse to go!
But, as we were walking around, I noticed all the other mommies with their fancy strollers, and their toddlers were dressed to the hilt, with cute little shoes, tights, adorable little dresses, hair pulled back with pretty pink bows.
I looked down at Alex, and there she is, sitting in her pink mickey mouse stroller we bought in Israel. Wearing blue, paint-stained sweats from old navy, with a mismatched purple paint-stained shirt from god knows where, and paint-stained little white sneakers. Her hair is all over the place, and still has some goldfish crumbs in it
Yes, that's us, riff-raff, and proud of it Maybe we should start calling her pig-pen, instead of monkey?
So what category do you fall in???

We're definitely in the "comfy", or "casual" category...

Re: What kind of kid do you have?
Right now, DS is always dressed in something for the occasion. When we were in Florida, he had 3 outfits per day!
But I don't know if I'd be doing this if I were working....or even if I will be doing it when he gets older and can fight me off

Re: What kind of kid do you have?
A combo of both. sometimes dressed up sometimes not. I do make it a point to have her matching even if it isn't a sassy outfit.
Depending on where we go I dress her appropriately. So lets say we were to go to the aquarium Sofia would have on comfortable clothing (i.e. pants, loose shirt, walking shoes or sneakers) and not a dress.

Re: What kind of kid do you have?
Well... I have a TON of clothes for DD, but she onle wears her onsies every day...I might throw on a pair of pants of we go somewhere, but for the most part....
we're comfy casual too. No matchy matchy here!
And we have a used snap and go for when we go out shopping and a graco travel system for long walks

Same with Steven.
ETS: Although it's getting increasingly difficult to keep him looking nice since he gets so yucky. We went to a party and I had to change him 3 times

Re: What kind of kid do you have?
Well, Abby still looks cute--she got a TON of summer clothes and dresses when she was born. She's not going anywhere, so she doesn't get dirty and her hair stays perfect--ummmm...she really doesn't have any
Katherine, on the other hand, ragamuffin all the way! Especially her hair--she's got a lot of curly hair and there's really no containing it. I'm lucky she likes her "doggy" clip even though it falls out like 10x a day!
ETA...You're lucky Alex even goes in a stroller @ almost 2. Katherine basically hated hers since she was 8 months old...ugghgh!

I usually have her in jeans and a t-shirt, same as me. I only dress her up for special occasions... ok that's a lie, in the summer I had a few dresses I put her in but they weren't fancy- I would still put sneakers on her. She never has bows in her hair and it's usually all over the place also! She always seems to have crumbs from whatever she's eating at the time all over her. I think it's more important that she's happy and comfy than that she looks put together.
BTW I LOOOOVE the aquarium, we used to go even before we had our DD!

Re: What kind of kid do you have?
When we are out in public, def both of them are put together and clothes are clean and matching, but in the house during the week when we dont go anywhere, the exact opposite.
Right now Gianna is in faded pink pants that are too small in height for her with a onesie from Mexico my Il's brought back, totally unmatching
Gianna wont' wear bows, and won't let me comb her locks, when I do she messes it up on purpose

Let me reiterate. I "brought" the stroller, but Alex stayed in it for all of 5 nanoseconds. She spent the rest of the time flirting with the boys, clapping to scare the fish, or pushing her stroller into other children and adults

Sorry I have to admit I am the complete opposite. We do bows and matching outfits and shoes. I don't have a very fancy stroller though, does that help?
Hey, no judgment here! I admire all of the mommies that can keep their toddlers clean and well-presented!

Re: What kind of kid do you have?
DD si always dressed in cute outfits even to go to daycare. She has so many clothes and shoes she would never get to wear them otherwise.
When she gets more hair she will definately be wearing bows!!
Even on days where I am a mess she at least looks put together.
Oh and if my husband gave me the go ahead I would have a zillion strollers

Same for us over here. I'm usually the frump, and she looks picture perfect. She just has so many clothes that I feel like I have to put them on her so she gets use out of them. As far as her hair, some days she'll keep it in bows and other days she rips them out.

Re: What kind of kid do you have?
I have the nudist in the fancy stroller. Happiness to Josh is a diaper on and nothing else. He gives me a look when I put a onsie on him. Socks don't stand a chance.
He does keep his hats on though...he hates the sun in his eyes.

Re: What kind of kid do you have?
If we're going out of the house, usually they're put together unless I'm rushed in the morning. I am never put together.
Maddie almost always has some kind of stain on her dress though if she's eaten.

I feel like this too sometimes. I have this cute child, dressed to the nines with a pretty bow in her hair and yet I have chocolate stains on my pants. Oh how things changed once you have kids.

Re: What kind of kid do you have?
I guess it depends on where we are going, I always like her to look nice and her hair must always look pretty. I guess its because I make sure I look good before I leave the house too.

same story over here - except DD wont leave hair bows in ever! However, she is always wearing cutesy clothes --and shoes now that she is walking. Me, on the other hand is in the mismatched sweats with hair all over the place
