What kind of plant or weed could this be?
My office at work has these wild plants or weeds not really sure what they are and we need help figuring it out. It looks similar to bamboo, with the rings on the trunk and has a mostly green but also some red leaves at the top. These things are growing at a rapid pace. We had them cut to the ground on 4/15 and they are easily already 3 feet tall. Any thoughts on what it could be?

Bamboo..... I have it all over my property....
If left alone, they grow to about 8 feet. They put out runners underground, and they can appear dozens of feet or more from the original plant.

We orginally thought it was bamboo, but the bark or tree stump or whatever you call it looks a tad different so we werent sure. Yes it was orginally about 8ft tall, before it was cut down.

There are over 10,00 different species of bamboo, so you may be more familiar with the other 9,999 species....
I've been fighting a stalemate battle with the bamboo for 14+ years, so I'm quite familiar with it....
One of the reasons I got bamboo flooring for my house was just to show the outdoor bamboo who's boss!
