Do you put any kind of weed killer in your flower beds?

I see some of my flowers starting to pop up. I want to try and cut the weeds off before they get crazy as usual. Is there anything I can put down that won't kill my plants but will help with the weeds? I want to do this before we put down more mulch for the spring.

Unfortunately there is nothing that would be effective now, but apply a product called Preen in early May. That will help control any weed germination and not damage any existing plants.
