What kind of water does your baby drink?
So my DS just turned 6 months and I want him to start drinking water from a sippy cup. I have been using RTF formula so I have not had to mix it with water. The last time I was at my pediatrician's office he said it was fine to use tap water. I live in Brooklyn and he said the tap water is fine in NYC.
Honestly, I am not sure I feel comfortable giving him tap water. Now I am trying to decide if it is better to boil tap water or give him Poland Spring. I was thinking if I boiled the tap water it would still have fluoride. On the other hand if I give him Poland Spring I could as my Ped for fluoride drops. What do you think? What do you give your baby?

I use the filtered water that goes through my refrigerator. What about getting a tap filter?

DS only gets water when he's constipated but I use straight tap water as per my pediatrician. NYC has the best tap water in the state and it completely fine for an infant.
ETA - I'm in Queens so it is NYC tap water that I'm giving him. I don't think I'd do it in Nassau or Suffolk.

I give DDPoland Spring. I don't useflouride drops because she gets her vitamins in the am with her breakfast.

The CDC actually recommends tap water for children under 3 months--municipal water is tested regularly, whereas bottled water is not regulated at all.
Your child is 6 months, so this wouldn't be such a problem. But I would probably use tap water with a filter of some kind. We use the Pur filter on our faucet, which is supposed to be one of the better ones.

nyc tap water...we have a built in filter under the sink
for my 6 month old I still boil it
for my 2.5 year old I give it from the tap
I drink it too...I never had a problem I never got into bottled water

yes it's true...my ped said not spring water...if you are going to use bottle you are better off with Aquafina ....

We give DD two 4oz bottles of water a day because of her bathroom issues. The ped told us to use tap water.

That is so funny so did I, but my DS drank a drop of water. He did not really like his sippy cup or the taste of the water. I will keep trying until he gets use to it.

I had given the sippy before with nothing in it just to see what he would do. He TEETHES on it LOL.
So today when there was some water he was a little shocked. LOL
