What room does your newborn nap?
During the day..what room of the house does your DS sleep? Are you suppose to let them nap where there is the most noise so they can start distinguish between day and night or put them in a quiet room?

Re: What room does your newborn nap?
Keep in mind I have a 2.5-week-old, and I have no idea what I'm doing half the time. That said...
My LO naps wherever she falls asleep or wherever we put her after she falls asleep: my arms, swing, bouncy seat, pack n play napper, etc. I try to put her in her crib once per day so that she gets used to it for when it's time to transition, but so far she has only slept there for short periods before she wakes up. Today, she was asleep in my arms, woke up in the crib and stayed wide awake for over half an hour, then fell back to sleep in my arms. She napped in her bassinet this morning because I needed a shower, and I could leave the connecting door open between our bathroom and bedroom.
In general, from what I've read, it seems that it's a good idea to have them sleep where it's bright and busy during the day, to help them start to differentiate day and night. It doesn't always work out that way for us though.

Re: What room does your newborn nap?
During the day, DS sleeps on activity mat, in bouncy or in swing. At night, Rock and Play. We are purposely loud around him when he sleeps so he gets used to sleeping when it is noisy. (My SIL has to whisper in her house whenever the kids are napping and I didn't want that in my house.)
At nighttime, we also use Sleep Sheep, swaddle to get him to know difference between day and night.

DD sleeps in the swing or RNP in the living room as well as the crib. It's always bright in the living room and we keep the tv or music on most of the time. I hate when she's napping and it's quiet bc I feel like she'll more easily be startled awake by a noise. In the afternoon she naps in the crib a lot and I'll turn off the lights and use the sleep sheep bc it helps her fall asleep in there.

Re: What room does your newborn nap?
Usually in the Rock N play/bouncy seat/actibity mat...in the living room. I like her to be around my 3 year old DD's noisiness to get her used to sleeping through noise and also to let her know it is daytime.

Re: What room does your newborn nap?
When DD was a newborn she mostly napped in the living room where I was. The tv was always on and I would vacuum and what not. Noise doesn't bother her. At about 6-8 weeks I started transitioning her to nap in her crib in her room, but I still left the door open and didn't limit noise.
