What should I expect?
DS is 3, and I think he's delayed in several areas, mostly with his speech. I had to register him with out school district and now I'm waiting for an evaluation. I'm just wondering what I should expect at the evaluation? And what steps come after the evaluation?

Re: What should I expect?
My son was only 16 months when he was evaluated, but it was a combination of play and some standardized tests to see what level he performed at. The standardized tests were things like asking him to point out certain items in a book, seeing if he could follow directions like putting shapes in the correct positions in a wooden puzzle, etc. Throughout, the therapist asked lots of questions about what he was doing or not doing on a regular basis.
I would imagine that it would be similar for your son, just age appropriate for 3. I don't know what happens after when you are hooked up with the school district, since we are going through the county, but after the eval, the therapist called and then sent us the results and then we met with our service provider for the county to discuss the next steps for getting services.
