I take offense to your statement.
I have five cousins, all college educated with advanced degrees and all who speak English who have been LEGALLY going through the visa/immigration process in Dublin for the last few years now.
They are highly trained for medical and technological jobs that not enough Americans are trained for or want to pursue. They would be an asset to our workforce and they can't get in. They cannot even get a visa to travel here because they have spent some time in the US in the last five years and had to go back when that time expired and are not allowed in again.
And BTW how many of the ancestors of LIF posters all came into this country legally or are all 100% American, meaning Native American.
I doubt my high school students would make such a sweeping statement about one ethnic group.
ETA: What the NYU students are doing is unbelievable. It's very ignorant and makes it very apparent that they need to spend a lot more time in class.
if your family arent living in Woodside illegally, why would you be offended.
She said that there are just as many Irish Illegal immigrants as Mexican ones. if anything she is breaking a stereotype of illegal immigrants.
Lets just say I or someone I know, could be related to some illegal immigrants who might actually live in Woodside. I am not ofended at all.

Protestors are TRYING to get people's attention - While I agree that this little 'game' is in very poor taste, I don't agree with those saying "Don't these 'college kids' have anything better to do, like study and go to class??" - You can't learn EVERYTHING in a classroom, and being in the middle of NYC, these kids would be stupid NOT to take advantage of every opprotunity the city offers them outside of the classroom !
These college kids are young adults, not THAT much younger than myself and I think the fact that they have opinions and concerns about things other than drinking and sex at college is a good thing .........-
Granted, this little game is slightly immature and definitely in poor taste, however, they got all of our attention ..........
