what "thing" reminds you of when your DC was a newborn?

i had it really rough when DD was a newborn...i remember waking up a million times a night and listening to the radio while BF her at night...just the other day i heard pokerface by lady gaga and let me think about it by ida corr (we are big puilse87 listeners ) and it brought me right back to those days....good songs but hard times, lol! i also just opened up the closet to see the blanket DH always used to wrap around me when i was BFing DD and it was cold in our living room ...brought back so many memories!

My DD's newborn cry. It wasn't very strong but she would cry allez, allez, allez (pronounced a-le). It was so cute and totally reminded me of french class in High School.

Going through DS' baby gear I sold recently. Today opening the clothes bins. I was sorting through the clothes to give them to another mommy. Then I saw his baby receiving blanket from the hospital, a 0-3 month onesie. I can't believe he was so small. I forgot!

But usually waking up at 2am if DS has a nightmare and trying to calm him for 1+hour.

"I'm Yours" by Jason Mraz. I would play this song over and over for them. It would calm them down instantly for some reason. I think for the rest of my life this song will remind me of when they were tiny little babies.

I still have her taKe home photo in my profile.. i go look and i still love how small she was.

Otherwise this may sound odd.. but her crib. When she was 'little' we could change her and bath in there, she was so tiny and had so much room in there. Now, she can't lay width-wise anymore

For me it is the song from alicia Keys "No One"! When he would wake up I would do the same with the radio and it always makes me think of snuggling with him

Bon Jovi's song "Gonna make a memory" (or something like that). I remember it just coming out and they were on all of the morning news shows performing and I'd be rocking her back and forth, and she was just so little and sweet.....
I cry every time I hear that song. Literally cry....it was just such a special time!

I went into labor while watching the Season Premiere and they were playing the song while showing flashbacks from the previous season with Izzy and Denny. The day after he was born, I was holding him in the hospital and The Frey was performing on tv.

Last week DS woke up every hour for 3 days straight b/c he is teething. The only thing that would comfort him was a bottle and me rocking him in the glider. I remember doing that when he was a peanut. I miss it so much.

The TV lineup in the moring. The Dr.s, then Rachel Ray, then the View. Its what I watched everyday while I fed, burped, and changed Daniel. Not to mention watching him sleep in his swing.

And, so silly, but the stupid Optimum Online commercials. Call 8 7 7 3 3 3 4 4 4 8! I hated the commercials b/c they played every 2 minutes while I was on maternity leave.

whenever he wants to cuddle.. which he rarely wants to do being that he must be on the move all day long


i also just went though all the baby clothes to get ready for #2 and it brought back all of the memories of him wearing everything once before growing out of it

Don't laugh, but Jon & Kate Plus 8! My twins were colic and there were times that I thought I would loose my mind and then I would watch this show and think to myself "Shoot, if she can do it with 8, I can certainly handle 2"!

Weirdly enough it's certain TV commercials - in particular, one for Pampers Cruisers and another for Lays potato chips. I BFed ALL flippin day sometimes and watched a lot of TLC - baby shows, wedding shows, more baby shows...

It seems like forever ago!

the smell of diapers, anytime I see preemie onesies.....and this is a very weird one, the video footage of Marty Tankleff coming home to LI from jail. My son was only a few weeks old and I was tuned into the TV while holding & feeding my son. I had been waiting for that day for a long time.

my DD - Christmas music. I used to keep on the 24/7 christmas music station on the radio in her room all night.

my DS - the DVD "the wheels on the bus" when my DS was born DD was 18 months. I was hospitalized for a week the day after bringing him home. So my mom brought over the DVD to help my poor DH who had my 2 day old DS nad 18 month old DD all alone. My DD never watched TV before, but DH was desperate. She loved it and watched it at least twice a day for MONTHS!

The Song I'm Coming out by Pink. It was playin in the delivery room during my csection when Emma was born.

I know this is weird but when it starts to feel like spring I always think of Emma. I remember being on maternity leave and taking her for walks just her and I when the air was just starting to get warmer!

i think the hospital blanket...

i took like 10 of them. i had gotten so 'used' to swaddling her with that blanket - i was not comfortable using anything else (i would swaddle her with two, because that's what they did at the hospital)... silly - i know....

and i'm thinking rockabye baby pink floyd will ALWAYS hold a special place in my heart. it sooooo soothes her!!!!!!! (and me too, if i'm being honest)

Also, I always watched Samantha Brown onthe travel channel in the afternoon.

sigh. i miss those days, even though I was exhausted and felt like i didn't know what i was doing!

When I hold my DD while sitting in the glider in her room. I remember all the nights we spent together snuggling in that chair. She was soooooo tiny and soooooo sweet. It was such a magical time. I can't believe she is 13 months old!! It feels like just yesterday that I took my little peanut home.

Pictures. I was just on Shutterfly looking at all of Shaylie's pics. She was such a little peanut. Now, she is all over the place because she's so active.
I wish she could be that little peanut again.

While I was home on Saturday, I watched a new episode of Deliver Me, it brought back so many memories for me. While I was pregnant, I watched all the baby shows. Remembering that made me think about having another one, but then reality kicked in when Shaylie was giving me a hard time

His clothes. I didn't get rid of anything, and I mean NOTHING! Going through the boxes and boxes of clothes recently, getting ready for DS#2, I remember how little DS#1 was. We had to go out and et premie clothes b/c he was so tiny. Now, you would never know!
