What type of milk does your 2 or 3 year old drink?
I still give DD whole milk, but I've heard maybe that's not the best thing for her at this point? What do you all do?

Unless they are underweight, I was told that at 2 you can switch to 2%. We do the organic 2%.
I'm going to ask the ped when we can switch to skim. She already drinks it occasionally, if we run out of her milk. She doesn't have any weight issues, but I just think it's healthier overall so I'd like to get her used to is sooner rather than later.

I just lowered DS down to 1%. When he turned 2 he was drinking 2%. My ped said he could have either one and we went with 2%.
But DS is quite the beefy boy, so I thought we could knock him down to the 1% recently. He is definitely not in any need to gain weight!

When DD turned 2 we put her on 2% and when she turned 3 we put her on 1%. She doesn't have any weight issues but the ped said there is no need for her to have the extra fat. She even said that we could go to skim if we wanted to. I haven't yet, but am considering it since that is what I like. I hate buying 3 different milks, and when Erin turns 1 it will be 4 different milks -- not gonna happen!

I give whole milk to Ella and Erik. They're both lightweights, so I add calories where ever I can.

whole milk.
she is not underweight, but won't drink the 2% s when she asks for it we give her whole milk.

Same here, except I did ask her ped when she turned 2 and said that since she was on the smaller side weight-wise, whole was fine still.

pretty much the same here...only my DD is 3 1/2 years old and weighs 32 lbs

Um.. yeah... DS weighs close to 34 pounds now so you can see why he doesn't need the whole milk anymore!!!

My guys were Whole milk until they turned 2 - then 2% until they turned 4. Now they drink 1%, Soy Milk and Almond Milk.

Ds refuses to drink milk. On the very rare occasions he does its skim milk. The only milk he asks for is bm and that's just because dd is drinking it. He has way too many sharp teeth for me to let him near me
