6 years ago........I gave up funeral directing because I hated what I was doing. I went back to hairdressing. During the 6 months I was there I happened to cut the hair of another funeral director. He encouraged me to apply to a local place that had just opened I tried to dismiss it...but gavein eventually to show him it wouldn't be a good offer.

Well, I was wrong.....and this coming Feb. will be at my current job 6 years. I make a better salary here the some directors who have been in the business for 20 years, and I can be myself with families!!!

I still thank this guy everytime I see him!

1)Breaking up with my ex to start dating DH.
2)Deciding to have Christopher, and then deciding to try for Kaylee not long after Christopher was born.

Taking a job in a position that had a very high chance of closing down. It did close down but it brought me to the salary and job that I have today, which I LOVE!

1) breaking up with my long time bf of 7 years to date my DH!

2) Purchasing our home prior to our wedding...Even though financially it was hard, it was well worth it

3) staying at my job that I had while in college. It pertains to my degree & it is a small company. I am only 3 miles from home & the salary & hours are great!

realizing it wasnt my fault my Father is an A$$, and he is just going to be a miserable man for the rest of his life.

Also allowing myself to be open and trusting with DH after some very bad relationships.

1.) Another vote for trying online dating

2.) Doing 2 years of full time volunteer work after college - It really challenged me in a way nothing before or since has.

3.) Going back to school to change careers. In addition to gaining new skills and a new career, I learned a lot about myself, self discipline and pushing myself as hard as I can.

-Changing fields from Wall Street to education....I was killing myself.

-Going back to school for my doctorate. It's been so hard managing it while working full-time, but it's really helped me in so many ways..I feel more fulfilled.

-Deciding on where to go to college. I really feel like where I went changed me in many ways...All for the better. It was so hard, but I came out a better person with more confidence knowing how hard I had worked.

Cutting my butt length hair off. I always hid behind my hair and was very shy. After cutting the hair, I found a personality I never knew I had...

1.) Having bypass surgery in November

2.) Filing for divorce (although I'm not "feeling" the positive effects just yet, I know they will be coming). The single best thing to come out of that union, is my daughter.

Mine was moving across the pond to set up a life with my fancy man. Now, its got to be having my blondy boy!!!

Breaking up with ex even though I loved him. Had we gotten married, I'd be divorced now, I'm sure.


Quitting ballet at a time when eating issues overcame me and the stress of it became too much to deal with.

Starting it again for the right reasons and enjoying it like I used to, before all the problems started.

Getting engaged. That was the best.

To stop my career as an instrumentalist and teach music. Best decision I've ever made.

1) Going to a Waldorf school (Hippy dippy private school) for one year. It really shaped who I am today even though it was only one year.

2) Sticking with Hofstra, even though I wanted to transfer.

3) Going back to college.

4) Asking FH to the junior prom

to move to Ireland for a year and do my doctoral research. A life changing experience in so many ways.

Moving to the US - all the good stuff (meeting DH, getting a wonderful job) in my life since then, would never have happened.
