What week did you see the heartbeat?

Hi Ladies - I just found out I was pregnant on Friday and am so excited! I called the doctor expecting that they wouldn’t see me until 8 weeks. To my surprise, she asked the date of my last LMP and scheduled the appointment at the 6W1D mark. I asked her if she was sure we would be able to see the heartbeat and she said yes. When did you guys see the heartbeat? Do you think that 6w1d is too early? I guess I am just worrying because at the end of 2008, I had a miscarriage and I don’t want to make myself all worried if they don’t see the heartbeat and it could just be that it is too early.

I didn't see a heartbeat until I was almost 8 weeks.

The appt. where I saw the heartbeat was well into my 7th week. I have heard of people hearing the heartbeat at 6W1day but its hit and miss.

If you want to ENSURE that you see/hear everything you are supposed to I would wait till the 7th week. A lot changes in a week.

didn't see it until our first appt at 9 weeks and didn't hear it until our NT scan.

We saw the heart beat at 6wks I believe. My Dr was surprised that he was even able to get it. If your Dr has a good machine anything is possible. Good Luck and congratulation!

I was still under the care of my re and only in the end of week 5 and we heard the hb.

I thought i was 7w4d, but the Dr told me I was really 6w4d and we still saw a heart beat.

We saw the heartbeat at 6wks with my first sonogram, and I heard it at 8wks at my Dr's appt..but it took him a few minutes, that felt like a lifetime, to hear it and I almost fainted lolz..when we finally did get to hear it, I was tearing for the rest of the appt. I couldn't stop the flow! He said sometimes it's not even possible to hear at 8wks and to not get upset that it took long.

I had to go to the ER when I was exactly 6 weeks and they did a transvaginal u/s... it took her over 5 minutes (could have been closer to 10!!!) to find a heartbeat. It felt like an eternity but she wouldn't give up.

At my first regular OB appt, I was 7w2d and my dr. found it right away.

I would probably reschedule for a week later or even a few days later (what if you had a late implanter, etc? You could be measuring a day or two behind what you think, so I would rather be safe and go when it's more likely to be sure to hear it). Good luck and CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!

We saw and heard the heartbeat at 6w4d.

I was almost 7 weeks and I saw the heartbeat, BUT I hear stories all the time of Ladies on here that did not and doctors don't recommend they come to them until 8 weeks.

I messed up on my dates and called the doctor back and they said I can come in anyway, so I just did.

I was 6w3d when we saw the heartbeat. I am now 12w and we still haven't gotten to hear it yet!

We saw the teeniest tiniest flicker of a heartbeat at 6 weeks.

I went at 5 weeks 5 days (it was hard to pinpoint LMP) and there was no heartbeat. The doc told us to come back in 1 week (which would have been less than 7 weeks) but because of scheduling conflicts we didn't go back 7 weeks 2 days and saw the heartbeat then. But I think they expected to see it between 6 and 7 weeks.

6wks 4days I went at 6wks 1day and it was too soon. HTH

Thank you so much for your response ladies! I would like to think that because she said we would see the heartbeat, that we will, but the other anxious and paranoid part of me, wants to just change the apt.

I didn't hear the heartbeat until our 9 weeks appointment. Before then they just checked to make sure there was a sac in my uterus.

We saw the heartbeat at 8wks. My doctor would not even try before that.

6w5d but even that could be early....

I was under the care of an RE...and saw the heartbeat in my 6th week. I don't remember the exact day though.

went in at 5 weeks 3 days and only saw a sac then when in at 7 weeks 3 days and saw the heartbeat

Went to Dr today 7w1d and we saw heartbeat
