What week is your scheduled c-section?

I had a c-sec with DS, and am opting to go the same route with this child. My doc says that she cannot schedule the c-sec prior to 39 weeks, and since there is a Jewish holiday, I'm scheduled for literally the day before my due date. I thought that was odd to wait so long, especially since DS came when I was 38w4d along.

mine is for 39 weeks also. and i asked, begged and pleaded for 38 weeks 5 days..

nope. he wouldn't hear of it..

It had something to do with the hospital policies..

I am scheduled for 38 weeks, but if I continue to have gall bladder issues, they might consider going 36

My official date hasn't been set, but my OB said a week before my due date, so around 39 weeks.

DD was born at 37 weeks 3 days, so I am nervous that I will go early with this one too. Guess it is out of my hands though!

Mine is 39 weeks- but at my last OB visit my placenta was low to my cervix, if that doesnt change, not sure if it will affect my c-section date ....

I will be scheduled around 37 weeks because of my full previa.

I'm scheduled for 38 weeks 5 days.. the friday before my due date. I tried to push for a week earlier but the dr said no way. I would have loved for him to be born on 8/8/08!

Hmmm when I was expecting to have a c-section when Ed-lie was breech, it would have been scheduled for week 39.

My BFF was scheduled 10 days before her due date as they didnt want her to go into labor

HAHA...her DD came 4+ weeks early!

mine was 10 days before my due date as well.. I think with this one it will pretty much be the same they havent given me the date yet though

39 weeks if I don't go into labor first (DS was born at 37 weeks, so we will see if I make it to 39 weeks)

The hospital won't set scheduled c-sections until 4 weeks prior to actual due date so I don't know for sure but my doctore mentioned 1 week prior as a potential. They are willing to go up to actual due date but they don't want me to go into labor on my own.

This baby is scheduled for 38 weeks, 1 day!! I however, am ready right now!!!

My first c-section was unplanned, after a failed induction at 41 weeks.

So it looks like the majority are scheduled at hospitals where, under policy, they don't do it until the 39th week.

What I don't understand is that my due date is a Sat, if they schedule it on the Friday of the previous week, I'd be 38w6d... that sounds like 39 weeks to me! Also, I don't understand the point of scheduling the date, because it's very likely that I will go into labor prior to that, and I thought that's what we were trying to prevent.
*sigh*
