Not acceptable but I have a story that relates-I used to work at a restaurant(family type place, not fancy at all) The owner used to kick people oiut if their kids made a mess. He would yell at them and then tell them to get out!

Your DH did the right thing. But knowign me- I probably would have walked out and called the Departmetn of Health on their azz.
