Re: What's the age difference between you and your siblings and did you like it?
My sister and I are 3.5 years apart - we have always been extremely close and we speak just about every day.
My DH is the youngest of 3 boys. He is 7 years younger than brother number 2 and 9 years younger than his oldest brother. He was not a fan of growing up with such an age difference - but I think that had more to do with the fact that he grew up in a 2 bedroom apt and all three of them had to share a room. When you're 8 years old and you're sharing a room with a 15 year old and a 17 year old, it's a recipe for disaster.

My sister and I are 5 years apart and our relationship has been strained all our lives. We are trying to get along now that we have children.

my sister and I are 4 years apart. Growing up, we were not close but now we are very, very close. I definently think that the age difference did make a difference.

Re: What's the age difference between you and your siblings and did you like it?
My eldest sister was 12 years older than me before she passed away, my next oldest is 11 years older and my brother is 9 years older. My younger sister is 2 years younger than me.
I never really thought about 'liking it' or not. It was just the way things were!
It was kind of like my parents had 2 different families. Karen (the oldest) got married and had a baby before I was 10. She treated me like I was one of her children because she was always the responsible one. It caused a lot of conflict for us when I was a teenager because I didn't want to have her AND my mother & father parenting me. The second oldest, Mel, was the 'cool' sister - she dated a lot and when I was younger took me to a lot of cool places. When I was a teenager she got me into clubs - and when I was in college gave me her ID. My brother Louie was a total big brother/pain in the butt. Didn't matter that he was almost a decade older - he still found ways to torment and torture me. My little sister and I were always referred to as the kids, the babies or the girls. We still are sometimes by aunts and uncles and the like. We were always given preferential treatment to some degree because we were not only the youngest siblings - but pretty much the youngest among our cousins. It worked well for ME - but I know that my sisters and brothers did have some jealousy issues growing up.
