What's the average time houses have been on the market...
Just wondering how long they are on the market before selling. TIA

well I don't know if this helps you b/c we bought in '05 when the market was moving a little faster, but for a "fixer upper" in Queens here's our timeline:
May 05: house went on market
July 05: seller reduced price, we saw house for the first time
-within 2 weeks, we placed a bid, went back & forth over a few days, and got our offer accepted for 20K less than the reduced price
beginning of August- went in to contract
first week of October- closed on house
My sister bought a house in LI last fall- that house was on the market for 6 mths I believe, and it needed a little bit of work.
