What's the BEST decision you ever made?

Meaning something that when you look back changed the course of your life for the better.



Mine was moving to LI to go to grad school.

That led to a great job, great husband, huge improvement of life for me.

Dropping my two BF's from school..

After I stopped hanging out with them, my confidence increased and motivation..

Carrier i love, married and now a baby..

Besides marrying my husband... It definately has to be getting my Weiner dog. I love him.

Leaving Oneonta at the end of my junior year. It took me an extra 2 years to get my Bachelors as a result at Stony Brook, but the best decision I have ever made.

Moving back to NY for law school.

While I loved living in NC, I was in a serious rut and bordering on depression. I didn't see that until I got back into a more normal life (away from the NC boyfriend and all the other baggage there) that I realized how truly sad I was down there.

Now I have a great job, a great husband, a new house, and a very happy life ahead of me.

Having children. My life is better than I ever expected because of my sons.

Moving to LI after college to move in with DH - I found a good job, and I've been here ever since.

Ok, so maybe it didn't change the course of my life forever, but having my second child by VBAC was a great decision for me. Proves it can be done and I was so happy.

Other than that, it would have to be obtaining my Professional Engineers license (PE).

I don't know if I can point out just one.

But marrying DH was a great decision, we have created a great lives for ourselves and the baby in my belly.

Choosing to go to Oneonta for college (I got into all 5 colleges I applied to)... it's where I met four of my best friends and DH!!!!!! I had the most unbelievable time in college.

Getting involved in my church..where I met my dh.

Was when I finally listened to my girl friends and went Online.....and I met my husband.

I wasn't even on but 3 Weeks when I met him....He said, He has been waiting for me for a long time. If I only listened to them earlier.....I would have saved myself a lot of heartache

When I decided to stay on LI when my parents moved to PA. It forced me to grow up fast and live on my own. Shortly thereafter, got engaged, married, bought a house and had a baby!

WOW!! I did all that?

Going to Temple Law instead of Georgetown law School. I doubted myself many times for not going to Georgetown and got a LOT of heat from friends and family for my decision.

But, I had an incredible experience at Temple, and even though it isn't as prestigious as Georgetown, I still landed the job of my dreams, but with only owing about $20k in loans, instead of $150k+. If I went to Georgetown it's unlikely I'd be able to have the freedom I have to choose whatever job I want, with little worries for the loans I have to payoff.

And, by staying in the Philly area, I met my hubby

Deciding to study abroad for a year and a half.. which led me to meet my BF, move to NJ, work at a restauarant on the weekends where I met DH

To get my master's in teaching. When I am in the classroom I am at my best and know it's where I want to be. Unlike the other 5 careers I pursued.

ETA: And quitting smoking cigarettes and pot.
