What's the earliest someone has had an EI evaluation?

I am concerned about Owen's "speech" due to his borderline hearing issues.

After his last test and tube surgery, the game plan was to wait and see how he did over the next couple months and get him an evaluation after his 1st birthday checkup if needed.

However, I find that I am a worrier and I can't wait. At his 9 month well visit yesterday I told his ped my concerns (the hearing a couple other things) and kind of pushed to have Owen evaluated by EI. In the doctor's opinion, "it can't hurt".

We got the referral and so it will happen, but I am wondering if pushed too hard and nothing will come of it because it's just too early to tell and I really should just wait.

I just would rather start services as early as possible if needed-but then I think, what can they really do with a 9 month old?

I had my twins evaluated at 9 months since they were preemies. No services were needed.

I had DS seen at 6 or 7 months He was a preemie, but I thought he was pretty behind. I think he's caught up since, but they didn't suggest any services at the time.

I am an ei evaluator and I have evaluated babies as young as 3 months.
