Re: Whats the sleeping in policy in your house?

They rarely get up in the middle of the night but if they do, it's me. It's me they want...and the last thing I would want is my DH being tired on a construction site during the day.

It used to be Saturdays I was on, Sundays he was. Now, for weekends, it's usually me on Saturdays & Sundays early am. DH has band practice on usually on Friday nights & I'm up early anyway. It was never a big deal in our house. If I'm tired, I ask him to get up.

In my house, we usually do a You sleep in Saturday, I'll sleep in Sunday and that works pretty well for us.

Whats the policy in your house?

That's our policy too.

During the week. I'm up every morning before DD running, so when she wakes up- I'm already up.

On the weekends I wake up Sat. morning with her and DH wakes up Sun. morning with her.

He sleeps in on Saturdays; I sleep in on Sundays.

He gets up with Logan every morning during the week (between 7-8) but I get up at 5:30 to go to work.

After reading some posts, I realise that some peoples live in lovers don't like to get up in the morning.

In my house, we usually do a You sleep in Saturday, I'll sleep in Sunday and that works pretty well for us.

To be fair, my husband usually gets up with Noah most mornings because he can't get back to sleep after Noah wakes up and he is dying for a coffee...so either way, I seem to win!

During the week, DH is ogne by 4am so I get up with them and bring them to the sitter's.

On the weekend, I usually am up with them, but we don't let DH sleep in. I just wake up at the crack of dawn and can never go back to sleep. I also feel bad making him get up with them ffirst since he is up so early every other day, and I get mroe sleep then he does every week.

For the most part, I get up in the mornings with them. I just deal better with mornings. I usually can't fall back asleep or stay asleep anyway if everyone else is up - my mind starts racing. For Mothers Day, DH took the boys and told me to stay in bed. I lasted about 15 minutes before I got up even after we were up pretty much every hour on the hour with out little one. I was exhausted but just couldn't sleep. My mind won't let my body do it!

Re: Whats the sleeping in policy in your house?

Much like you Racheee... I leave during the week at 7am so DH is up with Alex and gets her off to school, while I pick her up at 5pm.

On the weekends we have a routine that works really well for us - he sleeps in Saturday, I sleep in Sunday Chat Icon

I get up with Jacob every morning. I happen to be a morning person so it doesnt bother me. I usually wake DH up on the weekends around 8ish so I can shower and start my day.

Re: Whats the sleeping in policy in your house?

I get up with DD every morning since she still nurses 1st thing, which is usually about 6am.

On the weekends, sometimes DH will go get her and bring her into our bed and I'll nurse her there, then we'll all just cuddle in bed together.

I have a problem though...once I'm up, I'm up, so I don't ever fall back asleep.

Re: Whats the sleeping in policy in your house?

I get up with DD every morning. She would never let me sleep in. If DH gets her from her crib in the morning, as soon as she sees him she says "Mama?" And she won't stop until he brings her to me. In all fairness though, DH is up within 15 minutes of me getting DD everyday.

Re: Whats the sleeping in policy in your house?

Monday through Friday, I will attend to DS if he wakes up (usually just to locate a paci). DH wakes up at 6:00, so DS & I are still sleeping anyway.

On Saturday's we all get up when DS wakes up. We all go to the gym by 9:00 anyway.

On Sunday's we usually all cuddle together in bed. Once in a while I will get up and let DH sleep a little longer.

I always get up. Even on the days when I'm told I can sleep in, I'm the one who gets up.

Parenting is both our jobs, so we both get up on the weekends together at the same time, even though i'm up with them during the week, but in all fairness, dh is up earlier to go to work.

Re: Whats the sleeping in policy in your house?

No set policy here. During the week he leaves by 6:30 and the boys are usually still sleeping. I COULD sleep in - but I like to have tea with him and chat. Then I do the weekday morning shuffle. On the weekend I am usually up earlier - because I just am an early riser. If I do sleep in, Rob knows it's probably because I am sick or exhausted and he tries to keep the boys out of my hair for a bit. Doesn't always work because - well - they want ME! :)

Re: Whats the sleeping in policy in your house?

If the kids are up, so are we. Period. There's no sleeping in really. My kids wake up around 7:45 ish on the weekends, so it's not a big deal.

Re: Whats the sleeping in policy in your house?

DH is an early riser, but it appears that DD likes to sleep in like me. On weekends she and I both tend to sleep until 8 while DH usually gets up about 6 or 7 so I take care of her then. During the week she also gets up about the same time as me, but since I have to jump in the shower for work DH usually takes care of her. But I almost always take over because he's soooooo slow - it takes him 10 minutes to change a diaper!

DD gets up at about 6:30am, so during the week we both get up at that time. DH feeds her while I get myself ready for work, eat breakfast, get her daycare bag ready, etc. I then take over and get her dressed while DH feeds and walks the dog. I leave the house at 7:45am to drop DD off at daycare before work. Once we leave, DH gets himself ready and leaves for work at 8:30.

On the weekends, DH gets up with her at 6:30 to feed her and then puts her back down in her crib while he goes back to bed. She usually sleeps until 8:00-8:30 after that, and I get up with her while DH sleeps until about 9:30-10.

Same here. We never really sleep in. DH works 6 days a week, on his day off we all get up together, around 7:30-8.

If I specifically asked DH to get up with DS so I could sleep late, he would get up with him on a Saturday or Sunday, but I doubt I'd be able to sleep anyway.

Re: Whats the sleeping in policy in your house?

I get up early every day to get me and DD ready for work, while my DH gets to sleep in since he works from home. On the weeks he isn't on the road, he will usually get up with her after I get her changed and have a bottle with her and watch tv and then drop her at day care. On days he isn't home, I do all of it.

So he usually will let me sleep in on Sat or Sunday. But that means until DD bangs on the door and yells for me to wake upChat Icon

Re: Whats the sleeping in policy in your house?

I am always someone who NEEDS her sleep. When she was little we alternated waking up with her at night pretty much from the beginning...

Now, we each have one day a weekend to sleep in. And we adjust and rotate it to when we go out so we aren't always stuck being a hungover/tired mess everytime...

I am up with her every morning at 6 am because DH is up and gone by 5:20am! He picks her up at 4 from daycare...

Re: Whats the sleeping in policy in your house?

Since I have DS all week, DH takes him on the weekends. DS usually gets up between 8 and 830 so its not so bad for DH. I'm sure this will all end once DC#2 arrives
