What's your favorite go to meal for company?
I'm making dinner for my family on Friday. (8 of us) I need a new idea... What's your favorite meal to make for a small crowd? Tia!

Re: What's your favorite go to meal for company?
I like making chicken cutlets + mashed potatoes
Or, spaghetti + meat sauce, with some garlic bread and a yummy salad
I've also done macaroni and cheese with chicken cutlets

Re: What's your favorite go to meal for company?
Usually lasagna, spaghetti and meatballs and I would have garlic bread and a salad. I also like to make a prime rib roast with mac and cheese, a potato and a vegetable on the side.

I usually do all day meat sauce with pasta, garlic bread, and a salad. But we've been doing a lot of of football days lately where I've been making chicken in the crock pot with salsa, corn, and beans and putting it over rice or into burritos/quesadillas with guacamole.

Mexican. Tacos and tortillas. We do a buffet so people can make their own. It's always a hit.

Re: What's your favorite go to meal for company?
Chicken or Veal cutlet Marsala (make breaded cutlets, in pan drippings, turn stove off. Pour in one cup of dry white wine. Put in sliced mushrooms, and a tablespoon of margarine. Let simmer covered for about 5 minutes, add in 2 tablespoons of Wondra flour and stir. Simmer until sauce thickens about 5 more minutes.)
Chicken or Veal cutlet with lemon sauce (Cup of dry white wine, 1/2 cup of lemon juice or more if you want a lemon taste, tablespoon of margarine let simmer 5 minutes, add a couple of slices of lemon and a tablespoon or two of wondra - I ususally do it by eye. Let thicken and stir occasionally.) Hamburgers on the grill
Spinach lasagna
Costco roasted chicken
I generally serve salad, a veggie(steamed), and either a pasta, orzo, or potato.
Dessert is usually fruit and either cookies or brownies.

Re: What's your favorite go to meal for company?
I do like to do the usual baked ziti or stuffed shells, salad and bread but if you want something a little different, I like to make Pioneer Woman's steak fajitas. I make the steak, onions and peppers, black beans, fresh guac, yellow rice, and all the fixins with tortillas. So yummy and pretty easy.
Another EASY go to is spiral honey baked ham, roasted sweet potatoes and roasted asparagus (or burnt broccoli.)

If it's casual, we do a lot of mexican with a variety of meat and toppings rice, beans, chips and salsa, guac, etc.
More formal, spriral ham as the pp suggested. Any kind of potatoes, seasonal green veggie, and crescent rolls.

Re: What's your favorite go to meal for company?
Breaded veal cutlets and smashed potatoes with crescent rolls and roasted asparagus.
I use Pioneer Women's recipe for the potatoes - there are NEVER any left over.Smashed Potatoes
I drizzle EVOO over the asparagus, s&p, and sometimes sprinkle a handful of breadcrumb. Bake in the oven.
I pound out veal cutlets with a malet and dread in EVOO and coat in bread crumb. I heat a non-stick pan until super hot. I cook the cutlets on each side for 3 minutes or so. I prefer letting the breading get a bit darker.
The key is to make sure that you pounded them out super thin so they can cook that fast once you put them in the pan. Serve immediately...I usually cook these last after I've plated my other dishes and everyone is ready to sit down.
ETA: serve with lemon wedges. You can also do this with chicken and beef.

Re: What's your favorite go to meal for company?
I often do a grilled marinated pork tenderloin (Lawrys Steak and Chop). Then some sort of hot veggie (green beans, Brussel sprouts, or mixed zuchini, onions, broccoli, and mushrooms. And some sort if starch (rice, quinoa, or potatoes.)

Re: What's your favorite go to meal for company?
Anything Italian.
I'll make a huge pot of sauce and make either lasagna, baked ziti, stuffed shells, or manicotti. I serve it with garlic bread and a side of meatballs and Italian sausage in sauce. So yummy.
