whats your opinion on this ?? thanks
I have 3 daughters 11, 6 and almost 11mths my 6yr old is a daddy's girl all the way she wants no part of me when her Dad is home and they do everything together plus he is also her soccer coach. I am her class mom and we are close also but not like the way her and daddy are
I am totally fine with this......I actually think it is great I am not jealous or hurt I think its so cute ..for example we all went online and he saw this dress he liked so DD asked me to take her to TCP and buy it and she came home to show him her Thanksgiving outfit and it was the dress HE liked she was so excited that he liked it......whatever
But lately people are making me feel bad like she should LIKE ME better or whatever like its not right that she prefers her dad over me
whats your opinion on this?? thanks
p.s. my other 2 DDs like me better

Don't let other people make you feel bad. If you are fine with it, and really what choice do you have, then go on as you have been. Don't let people cause unnecessary stress and drama where it doesn't need to exist. Good for you that it doesn't bother you. My kids all go back & forth between DH & I, I think my older son prefers my DH but I can't make him feel any different. I could probably kiss his butt and make sure he gets everything he wants so he loves me more but he'd probably still prefer my DH anyway....isn't that how it always goes
Enjoy your kids, it sounds like you have a nice healthy outlook on it all.

Don't question yourself. Sounds like you have a sweet daughter who loves you, but is confident enough to express her preferences for the moment. I'd be proud.

I come from 3 girls. There's always one who tends to want to hang out with Daddy. For me it was seeing that Daddy doesn't have "anyone". Plus our personalities matched more.

I think that is so special they have that relationship. Don't listen to those people, half of them probably don't even have children of their own!

When DW was pregnant with DS, we discussed several times that most likely, any DC we have will alternate between their "favorite" parent. Both DC as infants loved DW, and really didn't bother with me. DS is currently tending towards me, and DD is tending towards DW. We figure, that as long as they like one of us, we're good.

Do NOT let anyone make you feel bad about her being close with her father. This is exactly how I am with my father and have always been, however, I am also extremely close to my mother. I didn't use to be when I was younger, but I still loved her just as much as my dad, it's just that my dad and I had more understanding of one another, if that makes sense. I think it's great that she has a good relationship with her dad and I think it's great that you support that. Whatever anyone else thinks doesn't matter

Re: whats your opinion on this ?? thanks
I'm not a mom, but I find this so funny, because I"m the oldest of 3 girls and the middle sister prefers my dad to my mom... it's always been this way.
It doesn't bother my mom at all. We're all very close with both parents its just my middle sister happens to be closer to my dad. They're personalitites are just so similar that it makes absolute sense.
I find it strange that people would make comments to you about how she should like you better. Some people (even kids and parents) mesh better with some than they do with others.
PS... That dress story is so adorable!
