When did you start on those puffy things (food)

We go back to the Ped at 9 months, haven't been since 6 with the exception of a sick visit.

I feel like Sasha would love these things-- is there a rule as to when you start?

Re: When did you start on those puffy things (food)

We tried at 8 months and she chocked on it because she didn't get the concept yet.

I think at about 10 months she really started eating them well.

Re: When did you start on those puffy things (food)

My DD will be 7 months tomorrow and we started giving them to her acouple of weeks ago. I give her the organic ones from target, the others seem to have more sugar.

ETA: The first few times I gave them to her I broke them in 1/2 with my nail so it wasn't so big, but once she got the hang of it I gave them to her whole.

We started early---5 months. They are star shaped so I would break off a point of the star and feed it to her. She loved it and when I was eating & she was staring at me, it really did the trick to make her feel like she was eating with me.

Started puffst at 8 mths, but broke them up. In a few weeks, she was picking them up herself and I would give whole ones.

I found the Target brand didn't disolve as easily as the Gerbers. We gave Paxton puffs around 6.5 months. We currently only give him the Gerber puffs.

Re: When did you start on those puffy things (food)

I started giving DS the Happy Baby puffs around 7.5 months, but he had some trouble with them. By 8 months, he was doing better with them although I broke them in half b/c i was nervous about him choking. By 8.5-9 months, he was picking up and feeding himself whole puffs. He loves them.

Re: When did you start on those puffy things (food)

I actually bought the organic brand they have at Target just yesterday. DS is 8 1/2 months. I tried to give him one but he didn't know what to do with it. When I actually put it in his mouth, he pulled it out to play with. I tried again, but he definitely was not into it. I'll try again soon.

Me too-the first few days they will probably gag/cough but that is a natural reflex that helps them learn how to eat foods of different textures

As soon as he was sitting up on his own.

BRU sells the organic ones for 2/$5. They are bigger containers too.

started just before 7 months....broke them into small pieces and now we are down to breaking them in half....she is also starting to get the concept of picking them up and putting them in her mouth...just hasn't figured out that she has to open her little fist to do so!

6 months but I kept breaking them in half. By 9-10 months when my DD was feeding herself I was able to just toss them on her tray and she would munch away. She still LOVES them!!

Re: When did you start on those puffy things (food)

I think 10 months with my first DS - the daycare infant room where my second DS is now in just reminded me of this - apparently I was the only parent who used to cut these in half before they gave them to my little guy. They found it very funny. Chat Icon
