I think I started puffs at 6.5-7 months.
Me too-the first few days they will probably gag/cough but that is a natural reflex that helps them learn how to eat foods of different textures
ditto, around 6 mos. DS now loves them. It teaches them how to feed themselves.

Re: When did you start on those puffy things (food)
We started at 8 months. I remember with my older DD the Dr. asked at her 9 month if she could do the pincer grasp and I remember thinking that I had never given her anything that small that she would need to! I know we started on table food at 9 months, so with DD #2 I started earlier with the puffs/cheerios etc. She has actually had some other stuff at this point since she has gotten so good at picking the food up and eating it.

I haven't given them to Samantha yet, Im too nervous. However, I've been giving her Baby Mum Mums and she loves them!
Baby Mum Mums are awesome - DD loved those and had an easier time eating them than the puffs.

I think gerber gives a guideline with each food. On the package it says sitting, crawling/mashing food with gums or teeth, walking...
I'm eager to try them too, but don't think dd is ready just yet.

Re: When did you start on those puffy things (food)
I introduced it at 6 mos. She didn't try to grab the puffs with her fingers so I waited at 6 1/2 months and she reached out for it and placed it in her mouth. I did cut them in tiny pieces though.
Have you tried the yogurt melts? She loves them~ Mommy loves them too

Re: When did you start on those puffy things (food)
I have been offering them to Chloe for the past week or so (she is 8.5 months). She does grab them, but she doesn't put it in her mouth. I broke it in half and put it in her mouth and she gagged the first few times. Now she sucks on them like a sucking candy... she doesn't put them in her mouth on her own yet though. She does love teething biscuits though (I have given her them since 6 months). but they are very messy.
