When did you stop using a monitor at night while DC is asleep?

DD is just about 6 months old and has been STTN for over 3 months now. I am not ready to part with the video monitor since sometimes I like to just take a quick look in the middle of the night, but at what age did you put it away?

We only use the monitor when we are downstairs, his room is across the hall from us so we hear him if he wakes. We have never used the monitor at night.

DD's room is right next to ours, but I still use the monitor with the volume all the way down. I can still see her if I need to and I can definitely hear her for sure!!

Re: When did you stop using a monitor at night while DC is asleep?

19 months and we still use it every night. Even though our rooms are right next to each other we can't really hear her unless she is screeching.

So I put it on at night to make sure she's asleep and then we turn the volume almost all the way down and turn off the video portion so we can hear her if she starts crying.

I still use it when we are awake and DS is asleep - he is 21 months. The bedrooms are upstairs, so I have it on in the kitchen when he goes to bed and we are downstairs, either for a nap, or the time between when I put him to bed and we go to bed.

We never used the monitor overnight. We share a wall and can hear him well enough. We only use the monitor when we are downstairs.

DD is 2 and we still use it for naps & bedtime...plan to for the near future too. Whenever she does move to a toddler bed I want to hear what's going on in there when I leave the room Chat Icon

My son is 26 months and I still use the monitor at night. I keep the sound off - and the picture off - but if I need/want to see him I just click it on.

my son is 2 and I still use it and don't plan on ever stopping Chat Icon

Even though his room is right next to mine I like to hear him if he's stirring, coughing etc.

And I think over the next year when he goes into the toddler bed I think I especially want to use it to hear when he attempts to escape from his room.

And then when he's a teenager and has friends or girls in his room....lol, just kidding.

We stopped at about 15 months.

We brought it on vacation in July 2008 and when we got home we never set it back up.

Exactly the same here....

I worry when he gets out of the bed what he is doing...

Its great peace of mind for me.

Re: When did you stop using a monitor at night while DC is asleep?

DD just turned 2. Her room is across the house and with our doors closed I can't even hear her crying. We still use the video monitor in our room so I can take a peak without going in and the audio one down stairs so we can hear if she needs us.

I have no plans to stop using it anytime soon.
