When did you stop using baby gates for stairs?
We are starting our home search to move this summer. Currently we live in an apt in manhattan. I can't help but feel uncomfortable about moving to a house with a lot of stairs. I keep thinking 2yo DS will fall down the stairs or I will fall holding our new baby.
When did you stop using baby gates for the stairs?
When did you feel comfortable with your toddler going up/down the stairs without supervision?

DS is 22 months and I'm comfortable with him on stairs. He hold onto the wall or railing when he can or goes down backwards if he needs to...but he's been exposed to stairs since he was 10 months old.

Re: When did you stop using baby gates for stairs?
i'm a little neurotic with safety things. I have no idea when I will be comfortable with stairs. my older DD is 28 months. She is great on stairs. I would never let her attempt them without me right there, so I would still keep gates even if i didnt have my 15mth old. I have a gate at her door because i am scared of her wandering the house at night if i didnt hear her get up on the monitor. i guess probably when my youngest is old enough to ask for them to come down and have a discussion about it so that she understands the need to be very careful.
