When did your baby start sleeping in his/her own room?

DS has been sleeping in our room for 2 months. I can't imagine moving his crib into his own room. It's only down the hall but it feels so far away! I feel like when I start working, I'd want him in our room even more since I won't be able to see him all day.

the first night home from the hospital!

He did sleep in a bassinet in our room on very hot nights (AC in our room) but otherwise was in his crib since day 1!

I think after 2 weeks we realized that him sleeping in our room just wasn't working out, he made way too much noise in his sleep! So around 2 weeks he was upstairs in his own room in his crib.

He was with us for a long time at the beginning but it was never a huge issue whether he slept in our room or in his room. He just adapted and it was not a tremendous event when we first put him to sleep in his own room. In fact, on the days that I could sleep late, DH fed him before he left for work and then moved the baby back into our room and we both slept some more.

At 7 weeks. It was glorious! I realized how his little movements kept me awake all night. It was so much better for us! Plus, we work odd hours, including overnights. So this helped us get our own room back to sleep during the day.

Was it a difficult transition to get DC to sleep in their crib? DD has been going in for naps during the day, but never at night. She is making so much noise and keeping us up that I think it may be time to make the transition.

We moved our DD into her room at exactly 3 months. She was wiggling around the bassinet too much and there wasn't a lot of room in there for her to do that plus she was sleeping through the night. At that point we just figured it was time. We literally put her down in the crib one night and the rest is history. Never had any transition issues thankfully.

With both DS and DD when they were exactly 3 months.

DD is 10wks and we are going to do it soon. I really don't want to, but she sleeps through the night, so there really is no point anymore in having her in our room, other than that I like it It is going to be hard, but I know I have to do it.

6 weeks. That was also the first time she slept through the night.

It was about 7 or 8 weeks. I'm sure we could have done it earlier, but I liked having him next to our bed and being able to see him. The first few nights he slept in his own room I was up every hour making sure he was still alive after getting over that it was wonderful to have our room back

We put him in his own room at 4 weeks and he was fine. I was going back to work at 6 weeks and I wanted to establish a routine before going back to work - he did great with it!

We had a baby nurse starting when she was 3 weeks old, so that's when she moved to her crib in her room. However, we would have done it about that time anyway since that's when we got her crib.

At roughly 7-8 weeks. On the night I put her in the crib, she slept in it for a nap or two that day.

7 months But out of neccessity! We were remodeling & living in our basement apt. I would have doen it around 3 months otherwise!

4.5 months. I knew that he would be fine sleeping in his crib I was the problem...haha. I loved having him next to us!

About 11 wks I put him in his crib. I went back to work PT when he was about 16 wks so I wanted a solid month of him getting used to his crib before I went back.

2 months when I moved her into the crib.

DS went into his crib from the first night we came home from the hospital. A few nights he slept in the swing b/c of his reflux but generally he was in the crib.

We moved her into her room at around 3 months. Up until that point DD slept in her bassinet in our room.
