I think DS would have done it later but he started daycare at 13 months and they only did one nap. It took some adjusting for him - he would sleep for 1 hour as opposed to the FIVE he was used to (a 3 hr nap and a 2 hr nap) - but he got used to it and started sleeping 2 to 2.5 hours at daycare.
When we pulled him out at 18 months, we kept the same schedule, and at 2 yrs + he still takes one long nap in the middle of the day.

My DD started transitioning around 18 months. She is now 19 months and is down to 1 nap.

DS is almost 11 months and during the week has transitioned to one nap already. Weekends.. I can get two if we are home.

DD will be 16 months in a week and she has slowly started to transition. Morning nap used to be at exactly 9am, then she started to stay up longer and longer starting 3 weeks ago. She stays up till 1130 and goes down usually for 2 hours.

At 15 months I knew DD was ready for 1 nap. Her afternoon nap started to interfere with her bedtime, so I knew it was time. We went on vacation and I had her stay up a little later in the morning and gave her only 1 nap a day. She did fine, so ever since, it's been 1 nap! She is 19 months now.

about 18mth. We did 17. You will know when they are ready when they start refusing the second nap for more than a week or taking very short 2nd nap

@ 1yr. 2nd nap once in a blue moon nowadays at 17months if it was a very active day.

I made the mistake of "forcing" it on DS at 18 months. He was doing a really short AM nap and a decent PM nap.
So I thought I could skip the AM. It backfired on me for a good week. He refused to nap at all, I suppose because he was just overtired. But after a week he got back in gear and has been on 1 nap since.

Liam did it at 15 months because his room at day care did it. So when he went back to daycare in Sept. he dropped a nap. But, honestly, at 17 months he still does two naps on the weekends, sometimes.
